Hi all
On day 11 of my Atkins diet - have lost 10lbs so far!
The other night I cooked a boxed meal (from Morrisons) of 2 chicken
breasts
stuffed with mushrooms in a caramelised red wine sauce. It was very
nice!
I'm a bit puzzled though, my Atkins food list deducts fibre from total
carbs
to give net carbs - of which I should eat 20 of in the first stage, yes?
Well... this boxed meal had, per 100g:
carbs 1.6g (of which sugar 1.3g)
fibre 2.5g
making the net carbs -0.9g (a minus amount of carbs???)
How does that work then?
I'm guessing you are not in the USA. Some other countries PRE-subtract
the
fiber, in which case the 1.6 is what's left after that subtraction.
If you are in induction, however, you should not be eating items with
sugar (even
OUT of induction it's not a good idea, but ESPECIALLY during induction).
Anything with "carmelized" in it's description should set off warning
bells.
That's right - I'm in the UK... I'll have to rethink that carb counting
then! I do avoid sugar as much as possible but now and then... and as I
say; 10lbs in 11 days! That's with quite a lot of Greek yoghurt and
blackcurrant squash too...
America and England - two countries divide by a common language!
Thanks
