Default Free Weight Loss/Workout Buddy Matching Service

Fredda Weinberg thus spake to all and sundry:
There are just a few groups that, by their charter, would be read by
people interested in local weight loss/activity partners. I can't
imagine why anyone would be annoyed - the participants in WLB's
message board are happy to be finding each other.

It's that slippery slope thing. Let one advertiser do it because it's
'relevant' and before long the group is swamped because *anything* can
be made relevant with enough twisty logic. And it will be, eventually.
First it's weight loss and products for same, then it's health and
products for same, then it's quality of life-- and *anything* can be
quality of life. I'm sorry if you can't wrap your mind around the fact
that just because you wouldn't doesn't mean it won't happen.

but what would be the point if nobody knew the service was there?
It's not like we're charging fees for advertising - the 'real' part
of the business hasn't even opened yet.

Try joining a group and participating as a member. Keep the link to
your business in your sig. USENET participants are not here to be
advertised at, regardless of whether its a free service or not (thank
you ever so much Canter and Siegel). And we do pay. Higher bandwidth,
clogged servers, no profit to the ISP, means eventual shutdown of those
self same servers when they do break down (and they break a lot), unless
we cough up MORE money to keep them running. Or go to a pay server.
Either way we consumers lose. When are you marketers going to pay your
fair share of these costs?

That said, I personally apologize to anyone who finds my activities
distateful, but I ask you to please recognize that there's a
legitimate need WLB's search feature can fill, so I will continue.

Ok. So basically you're saying the rules don't apply to you. Fine.
Continue being a jerk. I will continue reporting you to your ISP.
