Default Interesting story about the scales

*smiles*... I'm glad you are getting useful info from my postings, Nathalie!
OH, hopefully hubby will scan those photos tonight if I remind him.

Thanks guys, but ti's already there... listed as:

"Link to interesting article on why your weight fluctuates:
http://www.primusweb.com/fitnesspartner/library/weight/scale.htm"

Prairie Roots had it in there before I came along as official welcomer

even.

om...
This is a terrific article. I agree that it should be in the Welcome
message. It took me a while to figure out that the numbers on the

scale
aren't "real" in the sense that a 1 lb loss on my scale reading means

I
lost
1 lb of fat. That's why I weight daily. By weighting daily, I am

actually
reducing the impact of any single number. It's hard to take a 2 lb

gain
in
one day seriously (I know that it's impossible to have a 7000 calorie
deficit in one day), whereas a gain at the end of the week, after I

had
been
counting points faithfully, is emotionally destructive. This way I

can
monitor the fluctuations, and recognize that the 2 lb gain is a fluke,
because two days earlier I had recorded a 2 lb loss. The really

important
number is on the chart I keep of my daily weights. It says that I've

lost
40+ lbs overall. That my be off by a pound or two, but it's still

very
significant. :-)

To those obsessed with the numbers on the scale, or just for general
reading
about those numbers, here is a great link.
