"But this mainstream sitcom depiction of gluten-freedom is a huge step
in the right direction . . . because modern wheat is unsuitable for
consumption for ANY human!"

I tend to be the one who says "Moo" in response to being fed cattle
fodder. *Being mildly wheat intolerant normally has me one of the most
biased in the room. *Even I figure the current anti-wheat fad is over
blown. *Wheat or gluten is a problem for maybe ten percent.

I think the elimination of wheat, whether you have Celiac's disease or
not, is extremely important to overall health and weight control.

Read Dr. Davis's book ("Wheat Belly"), it'll explain the science
behind it.

And not only do I *not* think this is a fad, I'd hate to have a large
position in certain food stocks, especially those companies that make
cereals. So let's keep an eye on their stock prices and see who's
right, EH? Heh.

Wheat Belly is going to crash the cereal companies?
It's just one more book and the chance that it's going
to have some big impact on food stocks is silly. It
won't have any more impact than the thousands of
other books that all had their moment in the sun too.
1% read all the books and do something different.
The other 99% just keep eating what they like. And
I'll bet that most of the people jumping on the wheat belly
fad will be forgetting it in a year.

All those large food companies have all
kinds of other products. They track what people buy
and will just readjust the products as needed. People are
still going to have to eat something, and those companies
will still be supplying it.

I've also seen folks taking apart Wheat Belly as
misrepresenting the science, incorrectly attributing
things to studies that the studies did not actually
show, etc. I don't have the need nor inclination
to look into it any further. For me personally,
wheat has no different effect than eating any
other refined carb products.
