Default High Protein- Low Carb- Low Fat Recipes

"Howard H." wrote in message m...
I am currently on a high protein diet, not Adkin's, just a custom diet. I
eliminate as many carbs as possible and use as much low fat products while
still cooking and eating " normal" foods. Most cookbooks do not combine lo
carb, lo fat and high protein in their recipes. My girl
and I are interested in recipes that follow these guidelines.
Any recipes would really be appreciated.

Thanks,
Howard

I've been low-carbing for over 3 three years using a similar approach
to yours, ie. eating real food. I've found that amount of fat consumed
has little effect on weight gain or loss. It's not the calories, it is
the state of the body which is affected hormonally, ie insulin, by
refined carbs.

If you are restricting fat to control weight, you will be wasting the
most satisfying aspect of good food. If you are restricting fat for
fear of heart disease, be aware that the science that suggests that
fat causes heart disease is very spotty and highly questionable.

I do not concern myself with restricting any fats except for keeping
away from margarine and other hydrogenated fats and my blood work is
bang-on in terms of good and bad cholesterol. That is after over 3
years of eating this way.
