Day 8 and my scale says 8 pounds gone
June 24, 2009
257/249/200
Got on my scale this morning and it was just below 250 and so another
pound gone.
I don't move my indicator higher to show if I have put on water
weight, etc., because I know that if I continue on a low calorie diet,
the weight MUST come off and the indicator MUST go down. Moving the
indicator higher is a bit of a demotivator, and so with this approach,
the only news I will get is good news or neutral news.
Went up my little hill yesterday, perspiring like mad at the top. A
little slower because of the calorie reduction. When we go hiking in
mid-July I'm sure going to increase my calories for a day or two, to
add glycogen to my my system.
It does seem that "hunger is greatly increased by giving in to
needless eating." I am eating one meal a day, this in the evening.
(Mark Mattson, PhD, has shown that one meal a day may provide some
protection against brain injury, including strokes, dementias, etc.
Sort like a small stresser shaping up the body.) The fewer the meals
for me, the less the difficulty of staying on diet.
I hope everyone has a great day and is able to meet their health needs
for this day and onward!
Yours,
Caleb
