This is sort of a strange thing but the last few of times that I've done

a
long workout (30 minutes on treadmill, 30 min on recumbent bike and

trying
to do 30 on elliptical) my sweat has started burning the area under my

eyes.
Since the first time it happened, I've made sure that there's no makeup

or
any kind of moisturizer or wrinkle therapy cream on my face. It only
happens when I've been sweating heavily for a while (at least an hour)

and
then it only burns the under eye area especially the left eye. I've

started
trying to drink more water both while I'm exercising and just during the

day
and I stopped yesterday when I started feeling the sting. I went and

rinsed
my face off and tried to cool down so I'd stop sweating but the damage

was
already done. I have a angry red blotch stretching from the corner of my
left eye to my noise almost and an inch the other direction. The redness
under the right eye didn't get as bad and it's already gone away. Anyone
have any ideas why this is happening and what else (besides not working

out
at all) I could do about it?

I get this with sunscreen on my face. If you apply it once its ok,
but then I sweat and when you reapply or the area then gets wet it
stings like the dickens.

I just wash my face clean and don't use anything on that area.

Possibly keep a clean, damp or wet towel handy to whip the sweat off
with during your workouts. Keep the area clean of sweat and buildup.

I have been using a dry towel to wipe the sweat off but it seems that once
the acidic sweat starts even a little bit burns my skin. I'm going to try a
damp wash cloth along with the towel. I'll have to keep the wash cloth in a
plastic bag because I don't think the gym would like me dripping a lot of
water on the machines! I also bought some terry cloth head bands to put on
my forehead to stop some of the run-off from there. I just don't understand
why with absolutely nothing on my face that this is happening and why it
only happens after I've been sweating for a while.
