Bowing out as in not going at all? Screw that. You'll look impolite if you
do that. This is a new job right? and part of the politics of fitting in
is socializing. Maybe after you've been there a while you could start
skipping these things, but skipping the first one might send an anti-social
message. Just bring a low-carb dish and eat only the low-carb choices.
Who knows, you may be surprised! Low-carb is becoming so popular, other
people might be on it too.
