This is a poll (suggested by another person) aimed at successful weight
losers who have lost a LOT of weight (gone from obese to normal weight) and
who have maintained that weight loss for a reasonable amount of time.

1. What plan did you follow?

Eat less, exercise more. I count calories -- no "name brand" diet. I
try to eat a fair bit of protein and limit "bad" fats and carbs.

2. How many calories per day are you maintaining your weight on?

Roughly 1600 -- maybe a bit more given my occasional splurges

3. What is your age, sex, height and before and after weights?

57 now (54 at the start of dieting), female, just under 5'6", before
262, after 132

4. Any additional comments about what made you successful.

Significant amounts of exercise -- weight training (which I was
already doing) and quite a bit more cardio. An overall more active
lifestyle. Posting my daily food & exercise to ASD (which may bore
the heck out of most of you but which keeps me feeling accountable).
A couple of personal trainers to whom I also felt accountable because
they really cared about my success.
