Default WW without guilt or poison notices

This is how I feel. Taste is a sense. I like wearing silky stuff,
listening to good music, looking at great art, and the smell of walking
through the woods. Why then can't I treat my sense of taste to something
wonderful once in a while like a high quality chocolate or a small amount of
ice cream? It works for me. If it didn't and when it didn't, I didn't do
it.

I don't do 'bad' foods: no food is bad, though some 'foods' are pretty
poor stuff (like guar gum and artificial colours and flavours, and a few
artificial sweetners, mechanically extracted 'bollockburgers' [thank you
Jamie Oliver!], and whole wheat pasta!) and I avoid them.


That's been the problem I've had not only with the troll's blathering, but
with anyone who insists that there are "bad" or "harmful" foods. At the
times in my life I was not attempting to lose weight, I could overeat pretty
much anything. My weight didn't come from doughnuts and candy. It came
from eating too much of everything. It wasn't uncommon for me to down an
entire chicken in one sitting at times, or two large porterhouse steaks. If
at the time I had to give up everything that I would overeat, then there
would have been no foods left for me to eat - and I actually did that once
for the 10 months I did HMR. It's not a long-term solution.

I might not personally enjoy cake or doughnuts, but if someone does and it
helps them stay on plan to find a way to fit it into their routine, more
power to them.

I also related very well to the rest of your post being in the same
position. My body doesn't tolerate fat, so like everything else in life it
needs to be moderated. OTOH I know some people that do well on a high fat
diet which would simply kill me. I've also had to give up alcohol for
medical reasons and I was able to quit smoking pretty easily after a 20 year
habit.

People who have never been more than 10 lbs overweight in their lives simply
don't understand that obesity is a chronic disease that needs to be treated
forever. It doesn't have to be unpleasant at all which is what the WW plan
has proven. We're all individuals with different needs and there is nothing
that works for everyone. The other good thing about WW is that we all do it
our own way.

I treat my weight management the same way I treat my money management. I
don't eat everything I want every time I want just like I don't buy myself
whatever I want just because I can. I save up for special occasions and
splurge on occasion, knowing I'll be back on track the next day. I also work
too hard to live the life of a pauper so I make sure I have a few nice
things that I enjoy and don't have a need to be deprived. It goes for both
money and for food.
