Default Tequila Shrimp

I've never made it but it sounds good....

Serves 4

2 TBL butter (oh, oh)
1 TBL olive oil
2 large cloves of garlic, minced
1 lb medium shrimp, peeled and deveined
2 TBL tequila
1 TBL fresh lime juice
1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes

Heat butter and oil in 10 inch skillet over medium heat. Add garlic
and cook 30 seconds. Add shrimp and cook stirring occasionally, 2
minutes. Stir in rest and cook 2 minutes or until most of liquid
evaporates and shrimp are pink and glazed.

That's it.

Mmmmm...does sound good Fred. I'm going to try it as soon as prawn season
opens and my BIL gets back to fishing. Nice fresh ones would be good in
this!

Thanks for posting it.

You are welcome. I will use Costco frozen ones. Now I need limes but
I also have fresh but cooked tuna left from last night. It will be a
repeat dinner with kasha and salad.

I'm tempted to try the recipe this weekend if I can bring myself to buy some
frozen shrimp! It just sounds so good...

That's the second comment that people hate shrimp. I just don't
understand how that can be (g). They are sweet and have a wonderful
flavor. Oh, more for the rest of us....

I don't hate them I don't eat them because of something I read in the bible,
and before anybody says anything, I am glad that whatever clicked in my head
I was already passed the pork part, Lee

Well, yup, they are not kosher nor are any of the traditional what
some term "shellfish" or "seafood" or, as you mention, pork. For some
reason "seafood" did not connote ordinary fish but the shell variety.

what I read was the scavenger verse, thankfully I had already passed the
pork part. I used to love shrimp but the day after I read this and was
thinking about what a scavenger was we went out and I ordered a shrimp
cocktail and it turned my stomach when I smelled it, now it doesn't bother
me if DH eats it but I juts have no desire for it, I was considering trying
to find a verse about the evils of cheese, Lee
