Is Butter a Carb??
-Christmas Eve I stopped counting calories and had dinner with the
family then went clubbing with a friend. We ended up at a transvestite bar at beverly hills and let me just say that was some sort of ... interstingness. most of the trannies were extremely thin but they looked really really good -- because they had muscle tone. I was super jealous. vowed to start doing pilates with buddy to acheive california chic-ness. -Christmas day -- spent day with freiend getting ready to go to San Francisco to visit another friend. discovered that putting a darker shade of bronzer under my chin totally made my face slimmer. Loved it. The roadtrip from LA to San Fran was fabulous. We made 4 or 5 pit stops and I had a parfait from McDonalds. Y-U-M! later that night i had a subway six inch -- roast beef/turkey/ham on wheat, toasted, with spinach leaves, and horseradish dressing -- i would recommend that to everyone -- it was delicious and loaded with protein but not too fatty. lots of diet cokes/pepsi all around. I love driving with a friend who is also dieting. At each pitstop my friend and i kept on yelling at each other, "honey, maybe you should get a salad." and the other one would reply, "goddammit, i'm big AND beautiful!" (and slamming the nearest object against a hard surface.) It was so great, it completely took the guilty edge off because it put in perspective how ridiculous one would sound saying that to oneself. -Day after Christmas -- still not counting calories, by the time we woke up and got ourselves to china town for "brunch" it was already 6:00pm. not sure how that happened. along the way we did snack on mixed nuts and guacomole chips. but overall we did well. then we went home and stuffed ourselves with some more pasta and chicken. it felt like a big time pigout day, but honestly at least we had a salad....(we're big AND beautiful dammit!) -Today -- brunch was club sandwich with smoked turkey and avocado (I even became proactive and asked them to leave off the mayo) it was kind of dry but the avocado took the edge off the dryness -- so i didn't suffer much . that was some sort of good. I love how now i try to watch what I eat, i totally appreciate good food even more (if that's even possible!) On the drive back, we stopped for a mcdonald's salad and i snacked on dried cuttle fish (courtesy of chinatown) -- i love not feeling STUFFED all the time. Altho i'm not thin yet i feel that this year (2005, not 2004) is really my year and that I will be able to finally have a healthy attitude towards food as opposed to the love/hate relationship i'm so accustomed to. Excited!!! p.s. kudos if you recognize what movie my subject line is quoting. |
