Default Slim Fast question on tea and coffee???

I will be starting a slim-fast program tomorrow. They recommend sugar
substitute sweeteners and 2% milk. I'm fine with that. I will be having a
shake in the morning and a meal replacement bar at lunch. A fruit snack in
the afternoon and a sensible dinner at night.

My question is this. I love drinking tea (orange pekoe). Do you think it
would be alright if I had a small cup of tea at night with 2% milk and sugar
sweetener substitute. I couldn't find any information on their website
concerning the drinking of tea and coffee.

Thanks in advance for the help.

The tea shouldn't be a problem, but I would SERIOUSLY question the use
of slimfast.

You'd get the same results if you combined a glass of milk, chocolate
syrup and a vitamin, for a hell of alot cheaper and less sugar.

Its ironic how they promote using a sugar substitute the rest of the
day, yet their products are so loaded with sugar to begin with.

You really are doing your body an injustice by going the "slimfast"
route. If you are into this meal replacement, please look into the
following:

1. Myoplex
2. Advantage Shakes
3. Medifast/HMR or other medically supervised meal replacements.

You need to learn how to eat right for your body - not just replace
food with shakes until you lose weight - because if you do that you
are bound to just regain the weight when you go back to eating. You
need a program that teaches you how to eat to maintain your weight
loss when you have lost the weight. Slimfast does NOT do this.
Slimfast is junk. Its overpriced chocolate milk w/ vitamins.

Default Slim Fast question on tea and coffee???

You do realize that one can of slim fast has 9 teaspoons of sugar in it?
You could eat real food, get the same amount of calories, and not all that
sugar. There is virtually NO nutrition in slim fast. They'll do in a pinch
for a meal on the go, but it only takes a couple of minutes to make
scrambled eggs and toast, or oatmeal etc.

As far as the tea goes, as long as the caffeine in it doesn't bother you,
and you don't overdo it, it would fit in fine to a daily eating routine.

What a joke. Slimfast is mostly sugar and they're telling you
to use sugar substitutes? Forget the slimfast. Drink your
coffee and/or tea with no more than 1 teaspoon of sugar per
cup. Start the exercise program that Slimfast tells you is
necessary. Reduce your portion sizes, make sure you get
lots of veg and fruit, whole grains and legumes, enough
meat and dairy for good nutrition, and limit the fats and oils.

Don't do it! Listen to all of the above advice, I hope you haven't
bought the cr@p yet. Eat well, eat right, eat yummy, just eat the right
things and not too mpuch of them and move your butt!

As per tea, it can be a very healthy part of your regime, especially
green teas... But try to appreciate them without sugar and milk, just
straight, I like green Lady Gray, you can probably find Green Pekoe.

To hell w/Slimfast!

As many people have already pointed out, slimfast is really not the best way
to go. It is high in sugar and low in protein - about the same as a glass
of milk. So, check out the other meal replacement options like Met-RX and
Myoplex, and Atkins has canned shakes that are very tasty, and available in
most grocery stores. They're spendy, but I like to have some on hand in
case of emergencies!

I drink my tea in the evening with 2% and splenda. I only use maybe 2-3
tablespoons of milk, I can't imagine why it wouldn't be ok. Think of the
options - cookies, junk food, etc. A nice cup of tea is just fine.
