A couple of "Filling Foods" questions

Will~ Sorry to be dense here, but I still don't see how it was repackaged. All the things you mentioned, including checking yourself to make sure you are really hungry, were also part of Core, right? *** Yes, I didn't say that Core was changed, I said it was repackaged, presented in a new way... it's less scary to see it as part of the same plan than see it as a new plan all of its own. Nobody was ever forced to try Core. It was simply one other option. *** Yes it was, but nobody was trying it. The online system still lets you switch between SImply Filling and tracking points mode, for at least a week at a time. That was also the same in Core. *** Yes, again, it didn't change, it's just presented in a new way. What DID change is the tracking part of the plan. Momentum is different than Flex... the Simply Filling part, is pretty much the same as Core. I guess I did not read enough to see the difference between Flex and Momentum. Do you hav ehighlights you are willin to share? (I am not all that fond of their website. I think it is hard to get the ABC's. The basics. Basically it is too dang wordy.) So what is different, except for the name being more awkward to say and write and the fact that they now say it is "not the preferred method." How is the tracking system changed to make it closer to Simply Filling? *** Filling foods have been added, which weren't part of Flex. The tracker includes a chart to check the hunger signals which wasn't part of Flex either. The whole way of working the program has changed for those who track. The main thing is that the mindset has changed. It's not only about the pts anymore, it's about making the right choices to use up your points. OH! Well ignore above. Also I noticed that they have other measurements available to track than just weight. I have gained 2 lbs since starting. But I have *visibly* less fat. I am buulding quite a lot of muscle mass, which is fne with me! Loosing "weight" iss not my goal. Reducing my fat is! I totally fail to see where you're going with this I must admit... Will~ |

I'm really not trying to be argumentative here! I just honestly don't see whit of difference between Core and Filling Foods. I don't see the difference in mindset either. It seems like the exact same rules. Because you are looking at it from the point of view of someone who is trying to loose weight rather than from the point of view of someone who is trying to sell a weight loss plan. Some people in uncomfortable suits sitting around saying gee this plan is not selling at all. What can we do? I know! We can prepackage meals and sell that at exorbitant amounts! No wait, Jenny Craig is already doing that. How about we rename it something less intimidating than Core (ROOOOAAAAAR) and sell it as shiny happy way to loose weight and not feel hungry? Yah that might do it... I was just trying to clarify for myself if there was actually anything at all different. I'm just trying to understand. Anyway, enough of Atkins for now. It's voodoo. I don't think I wasted my 4 weeks though, because I did get my appetite under control and my blood sugar has dramatically improved. You never really answered my question if you looked in to the Zone Diet. http://www.zonediet.com/ It is a combination of calorie control and balance of macronutrients to promote the best distribution of digestive hormones to stop the flux in insulin spikes and drops. The promise of the Zone is no huger, feeling energized and fantastic, and mental calrity. This apparently is a very good plan for thosse who are particularly sensitive to high glycemic carb causing massive insulin spikes and drops as it sounds you are. Many libraries carry the book "Enter the Zone" by Dr Barry Sears. I did not choose to do this for a numner of reasons (as in if Stephanie thinks it is so great then why doesnt she do it) , though the science makes sense and when I DID do it I felt FANTASTIC. - Each time you eat, you have to balance the proportions of protein, low gi carb and good fat (not the same heart healthy good fats btw). This is prohibitive with small kids since sometimes you are running ou the door and have no more time than to grab an apple. - There are not the vast resurces for recipes as their are for Weight Watchers, and I found their website prohibitively PITA to use - I am not high gi car senstive as some. .I can see benefits from simply not eating the 4 or so potaotes a day (with extra butter, mind you!) and avoiding too much bread. Anyway, I thought I would throw that out there since you seem to be having a rough time of it, which is no fun at all! Of course my blood sugar dramatically improved when I lost weight by limiting calories too, so I believe that happens as long as you lose weight. Yet.... I still can't bring myself to tracking calories/points yet. I know I'm just setting myself up for a fall that way. I don't recall the difficulty here. For me, the knowledge that I have to write something down after I put it in my mouth is a great ibncentive not to eat it! So... I'm giving up the butter and mayo and fatty cuts of protein. I just printed off the latest Filling Foods List and am going over to the supermarket. I'm going to try for the next few weeks to follow the latest Simply Filling plan - eating just from the Filling Foods list except for my 35 free points, which I'll spread out over the week. And I'll report back later after I have some results, and not just talk. Thanks, doug |

There is a difference between FLEX and the tracking system of Momentum. There use to be 2 plans, Flex and Core. Not there is 1 plan, Momentum, with two ways of keeping your portions in check: Simply Filling which is the same as Core was, and Tracking which is Flex re configured. ** I was just trying to clarify for myself if there was actually anything at all different.
