Default My first treadmill workout

Hubby brought home the treadmill that a friend gave me last night. We put
it on the back deck. Of course it was raining cats and dogs when he went to
pick it up and he didn't have anything to cover it with in the back of the
truck. So now the display isn't working, but the treadmill works just fine.
Hopefully it will dry out and be okay or hubby will have to take it apart
and see if he can fix it. If worse comes to worse he says that he'll buy me
a pedometer that I can use.

When he got home from work he plugged it in and it worked. So I went out
and had my very first venture on the treadmill. I started out on low and
every five minutes I turned it up a notch. I did a 25 minute workout with a
five minute cool down. Once I started feeling dizzy and was sweating
profusely I figured I better call it a night. Mind you, last year at this
time if I would have done this I'd be in the back of an ambulance on the way
to the hospital! I felt dizzy and weak in the legs after coming inside. My
heart was racing and my legs were weak. But it only took about five minutes
for things to go back to normal.

I have to admit that I've never enjoyed even the thought of exercising let
alone doing it. I don't see any problem with incorporating the treadmill
along with my dancing and hand weight lifting routine. Imagine, me,
exercising and liking it. Who would have thunk it?!!!! And the pool will
be open in a month or so. So if you don't see me around.......I'm
exercising!

Why don't you try using the treadmill while listening to some music?
I find my walks to be much more enjoyable when I'm listening to some fast
tunes. [AC/DC works well for me].

I predict it will be a coat hanger in a week.

Absolutely. The only way I can get on my stationary bike -- and ride it --
is if I have tunes. I bought an iPod just for that reason. Now, I do enjoy
walking without listening to music, but I find I enjoy that more too with
music. I enjoy riding my bicycle without music, but I won't be listening to
music while doing that -- I need to hear to avoid being roadkill

Kelly, listening to music while you workout on your dreadmill is an
excellent idea. It will keep it from being a plant-holder.
