Hi all,

Happy to report that I lost 2.2 lbs this week bringing my grand total to
76.8 lbs.

It's been just over one year and joining WW has been the most positive
life-improving thing that I've ever done.

The support from my family, friends, this NG and from my weekly meeting
group has been overwhelming and I actually believe in my heart that I can do
this for life and still lose another 100 lbs...

Taking things one day at a time, but feeling really good about all of the
NSV's I've achieved in the last year, especially yesterday when I bench
pressed 190 lbs!!!!

Oh my gosh!! I'm new to this group and just read your message. How
exciting!! You are an inspiration. I like your "one day at a time"
philosophy. I need to keep that in mind.

Hi John,

Nice to meet you

First off, let me say that because I am such a casual person and work from
my home, it is really easy for me to wear track pants or track pants type
material shorts with the stretchy elastic waist. I don't go out much and
when I do, I usually don't have any need to dress up. I've avoided buying
jeans or other pants because they were difficult to find. So I basically
lived in stretchies constantly! Not proud of it, but that's what I did.

Eddie, I STILL do! But they are a different style (more fashionable!)
and a LOT smaller! I need this sort of thing because I crawl about on
the floor putting hems up, nip up and down ladders for fabric, and sit
on the floor to read!

When I started WW back in June 2005, I was wearing a pant size of 58 that
the tailor had let out a bit. My belt was a 60 and I was on the second
notch from the end.

Ouch!

By Christmas, I had lost 50lbs I finally had to breakdown and buy a new pair
of pants that were a size 52. Lucky for me I still had an old belt around
the house that was in pretty good shape.

Yay!

By the beginning of last April, I had lost my closest friend to colon cancer
and I was asked to be a pall-bearer. I tried on my 58's and it was a joke!
I went to the tailor and he fitted me with a 50 waist!......it felt very
good. I was now down approx. 65 lbs.

I remember you saying you were so proud to be able to carry the coffin.
A very sad but very worth-while achievement.

A few weeks ago, I actually started to get compliments from people about the
fact that it was now obvious that I was losing weight. This has been
actually very encouraging since up until now, it's been really difficult to
tell that I've lost any weight due to the fact that I have been so
drastically obese for so many years.

I think it takes time for the body shape to change and for the eyeballs
to catch up! It's fun now: I used to be one of the Fat People, but now
I'm the same size as all the Normal Ladies!

We went out and purchased some new stretchy shorts and guess what? - instead
of being XXL, they were only L !!!! very happy about this.

Good one!

Last week was the most uplifting situation since I started this journey - I
actually purchased a pair of zip up, button up pair of shorts - size 48
right off the rack in Wal-Mart!!! I was so ecstatic about this! My weight
loss today is approx. 77lbs, but I think my body is starting to tighten up
now, so the results of the weight loss are starting to show.

Just being ABLE to buy stuff that fits is so good!

Spending money on clothes for me has only ever been out of necessity, but
now I'm actually starting to enjoy the fact that I had to face the
realization of purchasing new clothes!

I still hate it... But I did get a kick out of having to take a PATTERN
in the other day! Cut the skirt a size 14 and had to shave a size off
the waist! it's still on the big side, but a good size for eating a big
dinner in!

As soon as I get down to a 42, I plan on buying a nice pair of jeans! That
will be awesome!

I haven't worn jeans in so long... I had a pair last winter - first
pair for YEARS! - but now they fall down!

You are doing so well.

Me too! Give her a BIG HUG from me, and tell her WELL DONE! I used to

thing.
