Hi my name is Lynn and I am new to this forum, but have been a member
of WW for almost a year now. Though I have to admit that lately I am
having a really hard time staying motivated to follow the program.
Any helpful hints about how to get back on track?

Welcome!

Motivation is hard sometimes.

Have you tried mini goals?

Break them down into tiny increments if needed ie "When I lose half a pound
(or kilo)/or track for an entire week/or do all my exercise - then I will
get a massage/pedicure/manicure/buy a nice scarf etc"

Hi Lynn -- I am new to this newsgroup also, but I have a tendency to forget
to introduce myself, and just jump on in. I've been on WW for three years.
Lost 50 pounds, "life happened" and I gained most of it back. But I never
stopped going to meetings. That has been crucial for me, as I felt that if
I stopped going, I really was Giving Up and would only continue to gain
more.

Motivation is a hard thing. What works for one person doesn't necessarily
work for the next. It can even vary from time to time for that one person.
I've been reading a nice little book called "This Year I Will..." which has
lots of good thoughts about how to change a habit and, for the most part,
keep it. That can be either developing a new habit or replacing and old one.

Sometimes it helps to stay after the meeting and listen to the leader go
over program with the new members, as if you were brand new yourself. While
there, remember what it felt like the first time you were in that position,
and why you signed up to begin with. Remember that it works.
Hang in there!
