I have some size 10 winter slacks that I wore a couple of years ago and I felt and looked good in them. I think I was around 140 at that time. I'm only 5'3" but I'm far from having a petite build. I measure 36" around the rib cage right below the bust. I currently have a 41" bust but had a 38" the last time I wore the size 10 slacks. I have very little fat in this area and don't think the bones are going to get any smaller g Anything below a 10 on the bottom and the top starts looking out of proportion. I'm pretty broad through the shoulders. I'm like many here - I'll just have to see what I look like I as lose the pounds. I would like to see a little more definition in the shoulder and arm area. I'm about 37.5" under the bust, with almost no fat in that area -- ribs are easily visible. My bust measurement is currently 43.5". It will probably go down some, but I don't think it has been under 40" anytime in my adult life. In any case, I'm sufficiently broad-shouldered that having a smaller bust measurement wouldn't necessarily mean I could wear smaller shirts. My hips are currently 42"; I don't think they've ever been much under 40". My waist is around 31.5" and will get smaller, but I think not tons -- maybe 29" or so? Measurements of 40-29-40 would make me -- according to the size chart I'm looking at at the moment -- a 16 on the top and a 12 in the waist and hips. I mostly wear knit tops so that isn't as bad a discrepancy as it might seem. I have lots of shoulder definition -- could use a little more in the upper arms. It's coming as I lose fat. It's interesting to watch :-). Chris I'm having trouble keeping up with what bra size I should be wearing. I'm 33 round the rib cage just below the bust and just under 40 on it. I also have very little fat left around the ribs, but expect to lose more on the bust as I lose weight. I can just about fit into a 38DD now, but it depends on the make. I'll be glad when I settle at one size, which will be a lifetime first for me if it ever happens I have almost no shoulders, so even in the smaller size tops I now take, the sleeves tend to be too long. I certainly don't believe there's any such thing as standard sizing! janice 233/161/133 |

Good point, Chris. I'm also thinking that if I can ever get into weight
lifting (i.e., find a gym I like, work it into my weird schedule, etc.), then I'm going to revise my weight goal upwards because I figure muscle weighs more and I can look just as good but be heavier. Did that make any sense?? Cat "Chris Braun" wrote in message ... On Sun, 28 Sep 2003 01:58:43 GMT, "Cat" wrote: I picked my weight goal as the weight I used to be before I gained 100 lbs. I weighed 120 lbs. nearly my entire adult life, only being heavy the last couple of years. I'm 5'5", so this is a pretty good weight for me. I would say my bone structure is average, neither large nor small. I may not reach my goal, but I think I can get close to it. Anyway, it is worth a try. Cat Thanks! I'm just a tad taller than you -- about 5'6" -- but have a larger bone structure and a lot of muscle. I weighed around 140-145 for a long time before I put on weight. I'm not sure I want to get quite that low now, though. I was much less muscular then, and I don't want to lose it. Chris |
