(where am I cross posting in this thread???)

Oops, I meant TOP-posting! Sorry!

I like to hear what people are replying to before I hear their reply.
Top posting annoys me. I figure if you don't want to allude to the post
being discussed then you should chop it all off. I keep having to read
down to see if you interject comments in the middle, but no, you just
included the whole thing with a top-posted comment.

I don't mean this to be a flame and I know there are several people here
who prefer top-posting, but I keep hoping people will cut it out!

Dally, ever hopeful

Please don't be a net cop. If you want to be helpful, stop a certain person
in here from cross posting everything thread he starts and creating
never-ending off-topic threads.

Not many of us seem to be bothered by top posting, so I guess you'll have to
live with it, sorry.

My news reader is different then your though. I use outlook express and it
lists all of the messages for me to click on, so I don't have to read one
super message. I've been posting for years in different newsgroups with
different names and never had anyone complain about it until I posted in
this one.

I use Agent, and the messages are listed by subject.

I am talking about the post itself. If there is a long post, and
somebody posts their reply at the top, then you have to scroll down to
figure out what they are replying to.

Keep in mind that 20 people may reply to a topic, so the newest post
could be a reply to any of those 20 previous posts. We need the
context to know what the post is referring to, and it is best to skim
context before the new stuff.

It's just a pain in the butt when the new stuff is before the context
you need to understand the new stuff.

It slows down the process and makes it difficult to follow. That is
why most people do not like top posting.

Well, if that doesn't help things at least you won't give a damn

for
a
while.

I miss my pals Jack, Jose, and the Captain

It certainly makes South Park more watchable. It's kind of a ritual

here
to
have a shot while we watch the show (even re-runs.)

Tonia

I *love* that show. TIMMY!!!

Jenn

No, it's TIMMAY!!!!

: D

and right when his character became popular, I had a student named Tim who
decided he was going to be a Timmy. At times it was all I could do to say
it properly and not TIMMAY!! He liked it when his friends called him

TIMMAY
so I finally confessed that I was resisting the urge. He thought it was
great that a teacher actually watched South Park and said I could call him
TIMMAY if I wanted to.

Jenn
He still comes to visit me!

hee! In high school, my very favorite teacher (biology) used to watch Monty
Python. I still remember the first time he said "spot the looney" during a
wildlife film. : )

My DH teaches and one of his pop quiz questions was "What is the air speed
velocity of an unlaidened sparrow?" When some of the student came back with
the answer "African or European sparrow", he knew he was "amongst his own
people".

Yeah, I know. That's why when he has a bad day I try to accommodate his
"needs", e.g., "The kids were horrible. I'm exhausted, cook for me now."
and I try to do so.
