"Religious Right Fanatic's" wasn't specific. Maybe they aren't Religious?
What denomination are they? Do all "Religious" people agree with them? At
least be accurate.

Then maybe Rosie should have simply said that the owner is "anti-abotion

and
anti-birth control" (pro-life). I realize there are many people that

are
pro and anti on this subject, but to just label them "Religious Right
Fanatics" is where I felt a bit affended. I personally feel very strong
about our countries basic freedoms. Naming specific areas for people to

be
aware of in case it goes against their own values is one thing...to put

them
into a degrating category for their beliefs, and insulting them at such

a
level for them, is another. I have strong beliefs myself, but would

never
feel right in degrading another human being for disagreeing. I might,

like
you said, boycott a company for having specific values that go all

against
my own. However, I would be specific on that which I was boycotting

(rather
than placing all forms of faith in the same category).

It is a nice thing having the basic freedoms we do. Freedom of speech
means that it's perfectly ok for a person to label the religious right as
being fanatics, just as it's within the rights of people who are pro-life
to call those who are pro-choice (or even simply pro-birth control) as
"baby killers" or whatever other terms they like. Free speech means that
no one has the right to never be offended.

Actually, I personally think this is great! Maybe I will seek one out here!
I always did believe in babies being given the right to not be murdered just
because precautions weren't used to prevent them being concieved, and they
are too small to defend themselves (and might pose an inconvenience on
people like you). Thanks for the heads up.

: What does this statement mean...we should boycott an organization

a personal faith, no of course not.....................i have a
personal faith, but it is not in anyway connected to the RELIGIOUS
RIGHT!

Bends in the Curves
From new discovery JenX (by way of This Woman's Work) comes some
information about the conservative Christian CEO of Curves that some
of my readers might find interesting. Apparently he uses the profits
from his operation to fund Operation Save America, a right-wing
anti-abortion outfit. Even more tacky, the man matches the first
$1,000 that Curves' franchises raise for charity - and gives the
matching funds to "pro-life pregnancy centers".

For some reason, your post just really dug
: at a part of my heart. Personal faith is a basic freedom (at
least here in
: the US). Unless it is somehow being forced on someone else, I
just don't
: see the problem.

Maybe then you might want to have a "heads up" that killing any individual
is normally seen as criminal. For some reason, these rights don't pass on
to our youngest human beings.

if that is true, then i am quite sure that you would want a "heads
up" about an organization (THE RELIGIOUS RIGHT) that would take
them away.

Apparently it was a widely distributed newspaper story that
reported falsely that the owner contributed huge amounts to militant
anti-abortion organizations (like those that bomb clinics).

All forms of faith do not fall under the term "religious right fanatics."
In today's culture that term is usually reserved for people who are
generally of some type of Protestant faith that not only hold strong
convictions but also feel the need for those convictions to be applied to
everyone regardless of their own personal beliefs and think the government
should play a part in it.

How about taking this to a more appropriate forum? All you're going to do
is **** people off.
