Default Sick of this...

It seems so ridiculous to me when I read articles by so-called
professionals.
They always talk about how studies have shown low carb to reduce
lipid profiles and increase good cholesterol and how people lose significant
fat,
then, a big BUT! in the
next paragraph all this talk about how it might not be heart healthy because
it doesn't follow AMA standards and blah blah blah. Are they listening to
themselves?

It's like saying a bullet-proof jacket will stop bullets, but
we can't be sure because bullets kill people.

Sorry,

had to vent,

RSG

Depends upon the "Professioal", whatever that term means.

The Atkins approach went directly against the old American Heart
Association recommendations to the US Government for a "Heart Healthy"
diet in about the 1970's.

So, this Low Carb stuff has had a long history of being "Against the
Grain" of the early cardiologists... and Atkins was especially bad
because he went against the cardiologists offical theme.

At this stage, people are compelled to acknowledge that the Low Carb
diet is not officially sanctioned.... even though it seems to work to
loose weight.

If it isn't acknowledged that it doesn't meet the guidelines for "XYZ
Heart Recommendations", then instantly there are comments on how it
doesn't meet "XYZ Heart Recommendations" by some of the readers.

The price of going against the grain is eternally watching your back for
snipers.

And snipers don't need to have original thoughts.

Gee, last time I checked, the professionals weren't evening
acknowledging that LC improved lipids or resulted in weight loss.
Sounds like an improvement to me, you gotta start somewhere.
