LMAO!

Millions of people ha e been doing Atkins for over 30 years now. You'd
think that some of those horrible effects would have been manifested in at
least some people by now. Please name one.

Cardiovascular problems? Heart attacks, angina, etc.? Wasn't there a
16-year-old girl who actually died following the Atkins diet, and a
man who's now suing the Atkins corporation because he had to have an
angioplasty because of it?

This is a logical fallacy called 'post hoc ergo propter hoc' (after this
therefore because of this). There's a big difference between someone
suffering heart problems WHILE on Atkins and someone suffering heart
problems BECAUSE of Atkins. It is very difficult to prove that it is not
a coincidental correlation.

Clinton had been on SB for months and no one is suggesting that the diet
is responsible for his quadruple bypass.

Atkins since 1/1/02 (yeah, it was a New Year's Resolution)

It's true - more research is needed. I didn't find anything on
PubMed, one way or the other. Though the evidence is looking
reasonably convincing, from where I'm looking. I know someone who
died after a year of Atkins, from heart problems.

My god that is just stupid. Lets all just fabricate delusional
statements and just ignore reality and undeniable facts like the
population groups who eat high fat, animal source diets and have no
heart disease. That way by leaving out realities we do not like we
can come to our own biased and false conclusions about diet and health
just like the mainstream medical establishment.

Wait I have a better idea. why dont we consider the big picture with
every fact to truly understand the reality of the situation. You know
like real science is done?? The way it is done in physics and other
uncorrupt fields of science. Then maybe we can work towards a
"UNIFIED THEORY" OF HEART DISEASE AND DISEASE! One that fits in every
aspect of reality and not just a hand picked narrow view that only
applies in certain instances. That way you actually know the CAUSE of
disease instead of "risk factors" that may or may not be related to
disease! Is that such a revolutionary thought? Not in real science.
Only in the absurdity that is for profit medical science.

I think I heard about that girl. She didn't follow Atkins. She just went
on an "all-meat" diet, and then CALLED it "Atkins". If one follows Atkins
*as written,* they'll likely eat a lot of vegetables, too.

That's interesting. A sudden switch to an all-protein diet can be a real
shock to the system. My guess would be potassium depletion and cardiac
arrest.
