Default Yucca flour

Any ideas on a carb count? fitday.com doesn't list it (at least I can't find
it). A Google search reveals a page that says yucca flour is also known as
manioc flour or cassava flour.

I had some last weekend at a Brazilian restaurant in NYC with my steak. VERY
good. Wasn't too concerned with the carbs, as I didn't use all that much.
The waiter (who was very attentive and knowledgeable) even explained what
was in this condiment. I remember him saying yucca (duh!), an egg, spices,
salt, and maybe even some ground parsley. These are combined in a pan and
cooked to get a crunchy texture, and was a perfect topping for the steak.
Steak was also served with a garlic sauce that was very dark brown (maybe
they charred the garlic first?), also very good. Lots of small crisly garlic
pieces.

Spent the weekend in NYC. First time there, loved it. There for four days.
LOTS of walking, was very good on WOE. Was bad on drinking enough fluids,
probably only had a third of what I should have been drinking. Only one
off-diet excursion, but it was the first break I've had in four months. The
store called it peanut butter mousse. I called it peanut butter fudge on top
of a brownie, drizzled with M&M's, chocolate syrup, etc. Savored at an
Italian place (Rocco's) in Greenwich Village. Was a very worthwhile use of
carbs!!

Thanks for any help on the yucca flour thing. If it's a LC item, maybe some
baking could be done with it.

Regards,

Joe

Ah, fried yucca! I had that for the first time in Miami at a restaurant called
YUCA (for Young Upwardly Mobile Cuban Americans). It was delicious! I've
tried to make it myself, but didn't come close to the restaurant version.

However, yucca is a root vegetable, like potato, and is starchy. Fitday does
list it. Try plugging in yuca with one c. You can also find it by calling up
cassava.

I think, if you're going off your diet, better to blow it on something
wonderful. I find it easier to stay away from the ordinary goodies if I have a
really special treat once in awhile.

And I'm glad you enjoyed New York City.

Boil it with lots of lemon juice and garlic. Otherwise, it'll be the most
tasteless food you'll ever eat. Before I was dxed as a T2, I ate lots of it.
