You are confusing nurture vs nature. Wrong again Asswipe. You just can't seem to understand the difference between what scientists have found studying the human genome and your ignorant preconceived notions of human behavior. Info regarding this is readily available to those who wish to search it out. You might try reading a book sometime. They hide ALL kinds of knowledge in those things. Ragnar |

Where did they find these human gnomes? I've always wanted to have carnal knowledge of a gnome. Is it anything like goat? Info regarding this is readily available to those who wish to search it out. I have a VERY hard time imagining two very tall, light boned, skinny, small jointed people reproducing a short, obese, heavy boned kid with big joints as well... OTOH, you dont get fat because your parents eat crap all day. AND if the adoptive parents eat too much crap, they are the role models, and the kid might take on their habits. Identical twins raised apart still resemble each other strongly, including their weight. Cite? Identical twins DO have identical bodytypes AND chemistry. OTOH, if one twin eats 5000 Kcals/day and the other 2000... Perhaps you could answer the question that stumped Ragnar: What has changed in the human genome in the past 20 years to account for the recent explosion in the obesity epidemic? No change. But there is an explosion of fast food chains. Speaking of which... Man...on Sunday we always go out and eat fast food. I had 2 double whoppers WITH cheese, (lots of essential amino acids and EFAs) one large twisted fries (carbs and more EFAs) a large vanilla milksake (MORE amino acids, carbs AND EFAs) and an OJ (lotsa vitamin C and simple carbs) to wash it away. Those Whoppers are SOOOOO tasty. I get water in my mouth just thinking about them. Today we have home made dinner, and tommorow as well, but wednesday is... PIZZA day! A 15 incher with Salami and mushrooms for me, baby! (and half the one from my girlfriend, i HATE to throw food away...) We actually have a REAL Italian here. Fresh out the oven. You have to wait 20 minutes, which doesnt qualify the Pizzas as fast-food, but those extra minutes are sure as hel worth it. I think i go to the kitchen now. Bake a few eggs. 6 will do. -- Pete |

Perhaps you could answer the question that stumped Ragnar: What has changed in the human genome in the past 20 years to account for the recent explosion in the obesity epidemic? No change. But there is an explosion of fast food chains. Unfortunately there is more to it that that. Obesity is fast becoming a global problem. At a recent UN symposium it has been determined that even in third world countries in Africa, obesity is becoming a problem. So I highly doubt that their obesity problem stems from too many McDonalds franchises. Lifestyle change that promotes human physical inactivity has done more to promote obesity than anything else. But what studies of the human genome have born out is the fact that there are many people with a genetic predisposition toward obesity and laziness and weak will play a much, much, smaller role than once thought. Most of the medical community recognizes this fact and it is still a mystery why some people (Hunter) can not figure this out. Old prejudices die hard and amongst the stupid, they are almost impossible to kill. Ragnar |
