Default Shoot... gained a bit this week... :(

It's Friday, week five of my new "working out three days a week"
regimen. I weight myself each Friday. Last week I was at 411 but
this week I've ballooned to 413.2 pounds.

Dang, gain of 2.2 pounds.... like to think that's sheer muscle
buuut... dunno how likely that is.

Trying not to get to discouraged, I guess a small bit of yo-yoing is
expected....

Yes, some yo-yoing happens.

Last Saturday I was at 94.8 kg. The next day I was at 94.2 kg. But by my
Friday weigh-in I had somehow jumped to 95.0. Yet this morning, Saturday, I
was at 94.2 kg again.

Things yo-yo. You have to look at the overall trend over time and ignore the
noise of the yo-yos, which are probably due to different amounts of
hydration (retained water, etc.)

Our weight loss never goes according to our plans. I know it's
discouraging to be doing everything right and have that scale show a
slight gain. It could be due to many things - higher than average
sodium intake, etc. Just keep following the plan and the weight loss
will follow.

My scale was making me nuts. I stopped looking at it. But with my
exercise and diet program I went down two sizes.....I don't care what
the scale tells me. If I had kept obsessing about the "numbers", I
think I would have given up.

I'm not weighing myself until the end of the month. My old clothes are
big, I feel better, and I think I am back to looking somewhat like I
used to look before this over 50 weight gain happened. I don't think
the number will matter to me any longer.

Congrats Maggie!! Clothing can be just as good an indicator of weight loss
or gain as the scales. The fit of my favorite jeans are a good gauge for
me. If those puppies start feeling tight I can tell I've gained a couple
pounds. Being short it only takes a couple pounds for them to begin to feel
tight.

Beverly

Jeans certainly are the best indicator of weight gain and weight loss.
Ever since I started this diet I threw away my stretchy yoga pants and
wear jeans. You can't fool yourself when you wear jeans. They are a
great diet tool. ;-) Anything that has to be buttoned and zipped is
good.
