Default Want to make a Low Carb Xmas Gift Basket

Hello to all!

I am not on any low carb diet, but my brother-in-law and sister-in-law are
very successfully doing South Beach. For this Christmas, I am wanting to
put together a "low carb/South Beach" gift basket. I know the BASICS of
South Beach, but would really appreciate suggestions to put into the basket
by bona-fide low carbers/South Beachers.

I should provide some info: I live in the NYC area, so I am assuming I will
have access to some great shops to buy wonderful low carb things. Also, my
brother-in-law is quite the gourmet cook, so I don't think those Atkins
mixes will be a great choice to put into the basket. What I am thinking
about are snack foods/treats, as well as unique things to cook/bake with. I
would love to hear the things you all enjoy to eat on low carb diets and
would appreciate any help/shopping suggestions. Thanks so much and best of
luck on whatever diets you choose.

Grateful for life? Man, you are a cheap date ;-)

(yes Ig, I'm joking.)

Some good olive oil, some good jerky, some good nuts such as macadamias,
almonds, and things like that would be good too.

You don't say if the food needs to be shippable... but here are some ideas.

Head over to Todaro Bros on Second, if you don't have to ship, pick up
their amazing freshly made smoked mozzarella...

And while you're there get some of their sausages (the dry sopressata
can be shipped), some killer olive oil, Marcona almonds (they kick
domestic almonds butt), jars of olives, wonderful anchovies (not
anything like those on pizza).

If you want to treat them well... so much of high end delicasies are low
carb.

So downtown to Dean & DeLuca.

Caviar, Foie Gras, Truffles (not the chocolate ones, the fungus!),
smoked fish (salmon, trout, etc.), great mustards (not anything with
honey)...

It's quite easy and fun.

Now... how do I get on your gift list! ; )

What about gift sauce basket. Low carb Carb options BBQ sauce is good,
Heinz low carb Ketchup, Low Carb A1 steak sauce, There are all kinds
of them.
Maybe a candy basket with Keebler LC cookies, The Nestle Sugar Free
low carb Turtles are to die for, Sugar free cream savers, low carb
gummy bears, Fran's Low Carb peanut Brittle.... An Atkins theme basket
with Atkins Indulge bars, LC shakes, muffin mixes......... Maybe a
dinner basket. Use a cheap plastic or stainless steel collander for
the basket and put parmesan cheese, Low Carb spaghetti sauce, olive
oil( i found garlic infused oil,) dried garlic and low carb dream
fields pasta in it. Different little cheeses that don't need
refrigeration and Wasa Rye crackers and a bottle of white wine.
What about a "Nuts for you" basket with walnuts, almonds, macadamia
nuts, pumkin seeds, sunflower seeds, small container of cashews, and
peanuts. How about a few nut butters ( Trader Joes has them all)
What about just a few of your favorite LC things and some of your
favorite recipes?
OK I'm brain dead now LOL
