Sounds to me like you were wiser in choosing to stay away from those mountains yesterday. They'll still be there next weekend. Sorry to hear about the avalanches and possible loss of lives, that is always so sad ... more so with the holidays upon us. It is sad. Both places are beautiful in the right conditions. I've snowshoed to where one woman is still missing. Right now it is chilly, about 40F but the sun is shining so far. More showers expected. I will try bike riding if it warms a bit or even if it does not. Chilly? I'm thinkin' heat wave ... we've been sitting right at 17 degrees for the past few days. NYNY - Fred - Dec 10th
Congrats on yet another more than successful week! Looks like you and Lesanne are
really getting into this friendly competition thing. G I do have to agree with your sister, based on my own observances with my weight goals. I thought 150 would make me happy ... then needed the cushion with my personal goal of 140 ... which resulted in another cushion to be able to keep the 140 cushion, so 135 it was. Now I'm working on a cushion for 135 and have begun to see there could be no end to this logic. I have no idea why, but last week the number 125 jumped into my head. I've quickly slapped it away ... but .............. Time for me to stop over analyzing things. G Joyce On Wed, 10 Dec 2003 12:12:05 -0800, Fred wrote: Okay here we go: I am down since last week: 1.8 pounds (that is using my base clothing measurements which means removing 1.6 pounds from the current wardrobe) But I'm down in any event 0.2 pounds even with the heavier clothing. Current weight: 156.6 (heavier clothing 158.2) But I will mention my sister's take on this minimum weight issue (she, by the way has never had a weight problem other than being UNDER most of her life!!!). I mentioned getting to 155 to have a sufficient clothing cushion. She suggested as some of us have discussed then you will not want to move much from there and will try being just a bit lower to keep 155 and so on and so forth and ...... Which is what I've been thinking. So what does it mean. I'm beginning to think *no* to the temperature adjustment question. I stated my
concerns to my doctor last year, he laughed at me and told me to give it some time for my body to adjust to the lesser weight. Well, it's been 10 months now and I'm still freezing! I am currently sitting in my jeans, t-shirt, heavy sweater AND bathrobe ... house toasty warm at 72. But not me. On the plus side, the 95+ days of the summer didn't bother me at all. g Joyce On Thu, 11 Dec 2003 07:49:55 -0800, "Brenda Hammond" wrote: A year ago I was still in tops with short sleeves, blouses, t-shirts, etc. Now I'm wearing sweaters, fleece, sweatshirst, etc. I'm cold all the time! Yes, I am waiting for the power failure - not really - that is one aspect of being thinner - I am running colder. I probably should rev up the metabolism by doing weights for the upper body. |
