pork Loin sirloin chops recipe?
I have a package of pork loin sirloin chops, which is much leaner than
regular pork chops. Last time I fried them, they were really dry. Does anyone have a recipe that will make them more tender and tasty? Thanks for any advice or recipes. |

try marinating them in a low carb italian dressing (some brands have sugar
in them) and then bake them in the oven with the marinade. They are really good this way, and it is so easy to do! (But I guess the olive oil in the dressing adds fat, and if you bought lean chops I guess you don't want the added fat) So, nevermind! "tenplay" wrote in message ... In my little mini-chopper thingie (but you could just mix with a fork), I minced a couple of cloves of garlic and blended that with a few tablespoons of Newman's vinaigrette and about a teaspoon of rosemary. Marinated the chops for about an hour, then broiled them. The cook in just a few minutes, so keep your eye on them. They were very moist and wonderfully garlicky. Skippy |

Peas are not LC but in the past brown the chops and then put in a can of
peas. The taste is great and the chops stay moist. I also did this with Pork Shoulder chops [Boston Butt] -- Emil Luca 08-12-03 369/314/200 "Patti" wrote in message news:Wy_oc.474826$oR5.90152@pd7tw3no... try marinating them in a low carb italian dressing (some brands have sugar in them) and then bake them in the oven with the marinade. Peas are not LC
In fact, they're legumes. Sheila Size 10 to 2 in 5 months (since 2001), thanks to Atkins! http://www.SugarFreeSheila.com - My Success Story, Extensive FAQ, & More! |

Speaking of pork ribs, they are probably hands-down my favorite meat dish to
make. I used to marinate them, but then found that it made them too greasy - which is the very last thing a pork spare rib needs to be. The only help it really needs is a bit of garlic, onion, plenty of pepper, two packets of Splenda, parsley, basil, and a nice shot of liquid smoke before it goes to the oven. They're AMAZING fresh out of the oven, but they're great cold, too! Cover them with broth-whatever flavor suits ya... beef, chicken or vegetable. toss some rosemary and thyme on them and perhaps some mushrooms. Bake for about 45 minutes. Low fat for those watching calories. If I'm feeling like something a little more carby (or you have others in the house who are eating high carb)...I'll sometimes toss a bit of wild rice on one side of the baking dish. Baking may need to be longer then and you definately want to make sure there is plenty of broth. |

This is one of my favourites:
Sauced Pork Chops -- 6 servings ------------------------------------- 1.3 kg pork loin chops, boneless (6 large chops) 2 tbsp coconut or other cooking oil 1/2 tsp onion powder 1/2 tsp garlic powder 1/8 tsp dry thyme leaves, crushed 1 small bay leaf 1/2 cup chicken broth 3/4 cup sour cream 1 tbsp paprika In large skillet over medium-high heat, melt oil. Add onion, thyme, and bay leaf. Mix well with melted butter. Add meat and sauté just until meat is browned on both sides. Add garlic, mix well, and cook one minute more. Add broth and mix well. Reduce heat, cover and simmer 30 minutes. With slotted spoon, remove chops and set aside. Discard bay leaf and bring pan juices to a full boil. Continue at full boil until reduced by half. Turn off heat. Add sour cream and paprika to remaining juices, mixing well. Heat through but do not boil. Serve hot, pouring sauce over meat.
