Default Food & Exercise -- 9/12/2004

Food:

9:30 (home): 2 poached eggs on 1 slice whole wheat toast w/ 3 slices
melted f/f cheese

12:30 (home): 30g More & Less cereal, 30g All Bran, 22g whey protein,
1 cup skim milk

2:00 (home): energy bar

5:30 (book signing/reception at favorite Italian restaurant): 5 oz.
wine; a few shrimp w/ pesto sauce; a couple of small pieces of salmon
wrapped around an herb stuffing; 2 small pieces bread w/ tapenade; 3
small pieces baklava; 1 small pastry cup w/ chocolate mousse

7:30 (wine tasting -- Italian reds -- which I ran): 9 oz. wine; 2 oz
various cheeses; a couple of small pieces of bread w/ sun-dried tomato
spread

9:45 (home -- basically now, while typing this): 4 mint meringue
cookies

Totals: 2103 calories (300 from wine); 76g fat (32%), 170g carbs
(32%), 130g protein (25%) -- I intentionally ate a fair bit at the two
evening events, as my weight is still going down and it was a good
opportunity :-).

Exercise:

3:45 -- Cardio program week 16, long day: 65 minutes treadmill run --
13 * (2 minutes at 4.9 mph, 2 minutes at 4.8 mph, 1 minute at 4.7 mph)

Pedometer steps for the day: 15633

Food:
10:30 am - breakfast: 1/2 doughnut w/marmalade

3:00 pm - lunched: new potatoes steamed w/ onion, garlic and Tamari soy
sauce with mozzarella and hot chili sauce
(4 new potatoes, 1/2 onion, 3 garlic cloves and 1 Tbs Tamari soy sauce; 125
grams mozzarella; 1 Ts hot chili sauce)

5:00 pm - snack: 1 doughnut w/marmalade

9:00 pm - dinner (out with DH): Amaro; pizza w/cheese, water
(1 Amaro shot, 1/2 pizza with cheese, a few drops Tabasco, 1 green olive;
0.5 lt water)

Cola light = 0.7 lt
Herbal tea = 1 lt
Water = 1 cup + 0.5 lt

Exercise: walking, 1 hr before dinner and 1.5 hrs after dinner

[Ovulation, day 4]

According to FitDay = 96 grams of carbs (39%), & 253 calories burned through
exercise.

What's Amaro? I believe it means bitter, but what sort of drink is it

You're right - it's an after-dinner liqueur, very dry, not too strong (cca
30% of alcohol).
We had Amaro Ramazzotti, but here's the link that explains about amaros and
gives a recipe for a homemade Amaro alle Erbe (amaro with herbs):
