Default haircut question, small milestone

10 lbs down in a bit over 2 weeks... that's still in the range I consider
"not a big deal" where I haven't really proven that evertthing's going to
work, haven't had a stall longer than 3 days, etc. But still... there are
some days I'm proud of, where I could have splurged, and/or had to make a
bigger guesstimate than I'd like.

Dumb question, if I go from a shaggy guy's haircut (not that long, just
shaggy) to a shortish and neat trim, is that less than half a lb of hair?

I don't mean to sound like one of those "gee I could give blood and lose a
pound!" kind of folks, but since my regimine does involve close monitoring
and averaging I thought that it would be good to know.

What difference does it make? You're trying to lose fat, not weight.
Are you carrying a lot of bodyfat in your hair? I kind of think not.

Don't try to fool yourself with stupid tricks. Eat less. Exercise
more. Repeat forever.

Hoodia, which
is #1 on that list.

JEEZUS CHRIST, THIS ISN'T A STUPID TRICK.

I can't easily and reliabely measure body fat. What I can more or less
accurately measure is my weight, and I can cope with the the water weight
by averaging. This is how I gauge my progress because I don't trust
subjective judgement.

I have no idea how much hair gets cut off. It all gets swept away after
being distributed around a floor. I'm not saying "gee maybe I can weigh
less by shaving my head!" I'm eating less. I'm excerising more. I'm
repeating forever.

Christ, Queen, you are so quick to jump in with the most useless
craptastic feedback.

"What size are Dunkin Donut Coffee servings?"
"USE HALF-N-HALF!!!! IF NOT YOU CAN'T BE SERIOUS ABOUT YOUR WEIGH LOSS!!!"

"Does hair weigh enough that a haircut would noticeably change a weight
reading?"
"QUIT PLAYING STUPID TRICKS!!! WHAT, YOU THINK YOU HAVE FAT HAIR? JUST
LOSE WEIGHT!!!"

Alright, maybe I shoulda guessed it wasn't that much just by the way my
head doesn't feel that much lighter.

But man, can't a guy ask dumb trivial questions (even clearly labeled
as "dumb") without people assuming he's looking for a damn gimmick? My
program is back to basics: a little exercise, a lot of calorie monitoring
and weigh-ins.

Feh, a simple "don't be retarded, hair is to be ounces not pounds" woulda
been ok. It's the diving into assumptions that I have some whacky routine
that depends on toenails, haircuts, dermabrasion, etc.

Random thought, I wonder if there are special charts so that people who
have lost limbs can calculate their target weights...

LOL! There are quicker ways to lose 4 ounces...like peeing before you
weigh in. :-)

And don't forget to take off your watch.

Dang, I miss that show "Starved."

Trust me, I know that one. I seem to get pretty consistent results with
the whole "second thing to be done in the morning" daily routine.

The reason I ask "less than half a lb" is because that's the limit of
display accuracy of my scale...

And don't forget to take off your watch.

Heheh. What a dilemna! do I wear my glasses so it's easier to see
the reading or do I not let myself be weighed down???

I struggle with that one myself. So I got really small new glasses.

If you want a real answer to your previous question, it's definitely
less than half a pound of hair. My daughter cut off her waist length
hair and we mailed it to Locks of Love. Had to weigh the package to
determine postage. It was under 2oz.
