Default Weight Loss Angers Family Pet, Whittles Waist Line

Hey everyone. A quick update on my progress so far:

The weight is coming off quickly even though I am keeping my calories pretty
high (anywhere from 1800 to 2400 per day - I average it out over the week).
I've reached my first mini-goal! I stepped on the scale this morning and it
read 298 on the digital dot.

I've had to up my exercise routine because the old one got too easy, too
fast. I was walking my dog three times per day, one lap around my apartment
complex each walk, for a total of 2.1 miles a day, split up into three short
bursts of walking. This was terrific exercise for me twenty pounds ago but
it's no longer enough to get my heart pumping. So now I still do my regualr
dog walks, but I'm adding a two-lap walk sans pooch 4-5 times per week. My
dog is NOT happy about this and refuses to talk to me when I return from my
solo jaunts (she's too old and too slow to go with me). The exercise feels
really good. I still have to force my ass out the door every day, but I
always feel better afterwards.

I'm reading the newsgroup everyday and taking a lot of inspiration from each
and every one of you. Hopefully, I'll be as successful as y'all one day!

congrags on the mini goal!

Some dogs just don't make good exercise buddies. Mine stops to sniff too
much and thinks it's time to wrassle when I'm doing yoga. Just spend a
little time with her when you get back and she'll get over it

Thanks! I've been here before but knowing I'm doing it the right way and not
starving myself makes me feel a whole lot better about it.

I make sure I roll around with her for a bit when I get back in. I don't do
yoga, but I have to do my crunches behind closed doors or I get a face full
of dog slobber.

That's funny. I'm having a similar problem. When I was working out to my
weights workout, during the stretching part where I was down on one leg with
the other leg stretched out on the floor, the cat who came back got between
my legs and refused to move. One of the other ones likes to crawl on top of
me while I'm trying to do crunches. I'm going to have to work out behind
closed doors once I get a tv and dvd player for the "rec" room!

Boomer my 11 year old Jack Russell and best friend in the whole wide world
gets his feelings hurt like this everyday when I leave him for my walk. He
just cannot comprehend why he does not get to go. I tried taking him with me
in the beginning but he is old and slow now days, and likes to visit every
blade of grass and other person/pet when I take him. I make sure we spend
ball/rope time together each night. What makes up for not being able to take
him is, now that I am much thinner than I was, I actually have a lap for him
to lay in when I watch tv/news at night and it is far more comfortable for
him and I both than it used to be. Pretty good trade off

PL, I've been watching your posts and I think you're making fantastic
sensible choices/progress. Keep it up! It's worth it.
