Boomer my 11 year old Jack Russell and best friend in the whole wide
world gets his feelings hurt like this everyday when I leave him for
my walk. He just cannot comprehend why he does not get to go. I tried
taking him with me in the beginning but he is old and slow now days,
and likes to visit every blade of grass and other person/pet when I
take him. I make sure we spend ball/rope time together each night.
What makes up for not being able to take him is, now that I am much
thinner than I was, I actually have a lap for him to lay in when I
watch tv/news at night and it is far more comfortable for him and I
both than it used to be. Pretty good trade off

PL, I've been watching your posts and I think you're making fantastic
sensible choices/progress. Keep it up! It's worth it.

Thanks Susan! The support I've gotten here so far has been a big help.

I'm reading the newsgroup everyday and taking a lot of inspiration
from each and every one of you. Hopefully, I'll be as successful as
y'all one day!

Sounds good PL. Keep it up.

People ask me why I don't have my Newfie walking with me. It's like
walking with a 150 pound 2 year old. Grace will watch me do Pilates
sometimes but doesn't try to help. She's a lazy bitch ;-)

Thanks! I've been here before but knowing I'm doing it the right way and

not
starving myself makes me feel a whole lot better about it.

Some dogs just don't make good exercise buddies. Mine stops to sniff
too much and thinks it's time to wrassle when I'm doing yoga. Just
spend a little time with her when you get back and she'll get over it

I make sure I roll around with her for a bit when I get back in. I don't

do
yoga, but I have to do my crunches behind closed doors or I get a face

full
of dog slobber.

LOL! That reminds me of my last cat, Bunky (RIP). I loved to sit on my tummy
while I did crunches. It's like thanks for the extra weight. : )

My last dog was a Chesapeake retreiver and LOVED to run. The only thing he
loved more than running was fetching, especially in water, they're bred for
that. At the time I ran a lot and he could run up to 4 miles with me. As I
was running half and full marathons I couldn't always take him with me, the
distance was just too far and boy did he get upset with me. I miss him.
