Water Retention
Lastnight while sitting at a HS football game (we lost by 1 point on a 2pt
conversion in the last 1:10 grrr!) I looked down and within a few minutes my rings were too tight. It was really bizzare how it happened. The kids and I went to eat prior to the ballgame and I had 5oz of fried chicken breast but did remove the skin and bones. 1 half ear of corn on the cob and a serving of green beans along with a diet coke. This was a very unusual dinner for me, but the kids wanted something takeout and it was all that was local to the stadium. I can't imagine that the sodium was so high to cause that type of swelling in such a short period of time(span of 2 hours this happened) Anyone ever experience something like this? I also have to consider that it was hot and crowded at the stadium. Susan 280/186/140 |

I'll have my rings on in the morning and have to remove them by noon if I'm outside or when exercising - regardless of what I eat. Jenn |

Cola, and all carbonated beverages, even if it's just unsweetened carbonated water (very popular in Italy) can make you swell like that, too. My GP/nutritionist has warn me of that on our first session. I try to avoid all carbonated drinks, but my problem is, I don't drink coffee and sometimes have to have something with caffeine to "lift me" when I'm sleeping or having a mild headache (as I'm still BF, I try to avoid all the pills, even the paracetamol ones)... Yea, don't eat/drink/smoke when doing other activities, especially ones as
involved as watching your favorite game. It's VERY easy to lose control without knowing, as I have learned. |
