Default Quizno's Flatbread

Hi,

I know it's not new, but last night I tried my Quizno's sandwich on
their low-carb flat bread and liked it very much, even better than
Subway low-carb wraps.

But, their web site doesn't seem to have a carb breakdown on this item.
Does anyone know the net carbs on their flatbread or where you can buy
similar flatbread for use at home?? I can find all kinds of low-carb
wraps in stores, but not flatbread.

Thanks!

Let's take this from the top:

1. Your answer is not productive and doesn't answer the question asked.
2. I don't eat "fast food" normally and my question was not about
typical "fast food"
3. I am actually at the right weight for my height and am trying to
simply maintain for your information. Where do you get off saying "fast
food is how you got fat" when you don't even know my weight?

It's people like you who need seek therapy for your inner anger instead
of bashing strangers on newsgroups. This group can be productive if
you'll please step away from your keyboard and be quiet unless you have
something constructive to offer.

It was a response to someone who's deluded himself into thinking he is
Christ in German if that answers your question.

He did the same thing to my question about tacos. If you or anyone could
answer my own question as to whether or not tacos are lower carb than
spaghetti I'd much appreciate. It helps my metab and can actually stimulate
weight loss on me, YMMV.

Saw your photos. You look great BTW. You make me want to try Atkins or
low-carb in general.

I've been buying flatbreads here in NJ at the Pathmark supermarket.
They are made by Damascus Bakeries (hope they aren't owned by Syria!)
and use flax as one of the ingredients. They really are excellent and
also a source of Omega-3 as well. And I like them better than LC wraps
too. 15g carb, 9g fiber, 6g net.

I just saw the nutrition info on Quizno's site the other day and idly
wondered if the sandwich was good or not. Probably something I'll try this
weekend.

If you go to http://www.quiznos.com/menu_subs.asp and click on "View Low
Carbohydrate Information" for the Low Carb Toasty Flatbread, you'll get a
popup window giving details.

I have seen recipes for low carb flat bread online, although I haven't yet
tried any of them. I know Blaine makes one quite frequently using soy flour
which I haven't yet tried, you can find it at

Thank you . Low carb is the easiest and most enjoyable way of eating I've
ever done, even better than eating the carby foods I'd assumed I couldn't
live without.

I was able to find that a 6" corn tortilla is about 46.6 gm and that
spaghetti is about 40 gm per cup. (These aren't net carbs, these are total
carbs although I suspect they'd be close). Then whatever you add to your
tacos or spaghetti sauce of course would be in addition to come up with the
total count. If that information helps you at all . The source is
http://www.carbohydrate-counter.org/ .

Regarding the Quiznos wraps, I think personally they are a very poor
deal. They are very small compared to a full size sandwich, a poor
value for the money. But worse, they are not enough in volume to not
want to go snack soon after.

Which brings me to another point about low carb. Most of these fast
food restaurants have jumped on the low carb bandwagon, but they are in
most cases the product qualified and I suspect not really "low carb".
There is little consumer research to back up these restaurants' claims
of low carb afaik.

Look at the "low carb breakfast bowl" at Carl's Jr (and I believe
Hardee's or such). It's death in a bowl, I don't care if it is for
full induction. They don't say it's for "induction" or qualify it in
any way. If any of you have ever ordered it, you know that the _first_
thing they ask is if you want the "meal". What does the meal include?
TATER TOTS! Nice going, Carl's.

So I'd be very suspicious of marketing efforts to cash in on a trend.

I don't suspect Quizno's claims much, but I think the wraps are not
practical for me and I suspect others. BTW, I reckon the main wraps
were supposed to be 8 or 9 carbs net, IIRC.

Interesting. The lowest carb item on the list at Quiznos was the tuna at
6.1. So I figured the flatbread must account for 6 or less (as a nice round
number.) :-)

I had seen George Stella using whole-wheat flatbread and he said it might
have higher carbs, but check the label that they are made with whole-wheat
only... Anyway, my store had run out of La Tortilla Factory tortillas for a
bit so I tried some whole-wheat wraps (not flatbread in this case.) But
they worked very well for me. I've been looking for flatbread, but nothing
so far that isn't loaded with 'other' stuff.

Try reading the nutrition labels on the tortilla package and the spaghetti
package.
