Hi! Im writing in search of support as start induction once again. I have
fallen off the wagon and know i can get back on, but need the support of
others. I often get bored with all the protien. Im not craving the carbs so
much. I am not kitchen savy. I work between 75 and 90 hrs a week, plus go to
the gym or was till last week 4x a week. Im working with a personal trainer,
doing weights. A gift to myself as i dont have alot of hobbies hence always
working and felt the best thing i could buy myself was someone who could help
me tone and push myself. I dont have alot of time to prepare things ahead of
time so when im in a pinch sometimes i grab the wrong things. It might be a
wendys burger with everything but the bun. This week alot of things happened.
Things are better now somewhat except that i ate or picked at bread at times
and potatoes. Okay to get back on track... any tips for flavorful meat or easy
quick recipes for people on the go. My family does not eat what i do but can be
supportive when they remember im on the low carb diet. We dont see alot of each
other as it sems like we pass each other through the door. I feel like i will
never reach goal. I am currently between 180 and 185. I hate when i break down
and eat nuts because it causes me to gain weight. I feel like i need the crunch
though and sometimes veggies just dont cut it. i dont want chips but something
different then the same old things. My trainer wants me to eat no fruit for 12
weeks. Just protien. I just am looking for what others do in a hurry etc. Take
care.

For tasty recipes I use the Low Carb Bible. My favorite is a goat cheeze
fritata.
As for quick snacks I use beef jerky now. I also make a bunch of sugar free
jellos and keep them in the fridge.

Hope this helps

You're fat and stupid.

Either fix it, or don't.

Having worked the crazy hours of a salaried position myself for a number
of years, my personal advice would be to quit the damned job and grow
your own veggies and raise chickens while working part-time at home.
It's sure improved my happiness tremendously! Marrying a Canadian works
well too.

As far as eating low-carb while working crazy hours, here's a couple
posts on what I did:

I would put it another way, this is a "mind set" thing, Look objectively at
what you want, and do not be weak willed and allow yourself to fall off the
wagon.

I see so many post in this group about "cheating" the best thing about
cheating is dont do it. !

Combine low carb eating, with the passage of time results in one outcome,
lower weight.

The only person you cheat is yourself, no one else gives a damn.

Hi Karent,

About the cheat - it might be better if it's an organised event. Many people in
here have "day off" where they eat a bit of carb. Some has a tiny tiny slice of
toast a day. I don't know how strict you have been to yourself, but the key to
no cheating is perhaps to spread the cheating evenly.

I can't make any recommendations on the food side - I'm in a food rut myself. I
can eat the same things every day for weeks and don't get bored. For quick food
it's good to have stir fried meat strips in box or some hard boiled eggs hidden
somewhere in the house so that you can nibble on them whenever you need to
nibble something. Other than these I don't know. I can't even eat eggs now, I
have re-developed this allergy to eggs. Sigh!

Have fun with the training.
A.

Talking about happiness - a study shows that people over 40 tends to be happier
if they're getting laid once a week and for those under 40, one needs to do it 2
to 3 times a week. Being married and having only 1 sexual partner also helps
too, which I think is what Jacki has just demonstrated!!!

Believe me, A, it's *not* a "good thing" to have eggs "hidden
somewhere in the house!"

My boys decided to have an Easter Egg Hunt indoors one year when it
rained & cancelled the outdoor hunt. *One* of those eggs was not
found, so a few days later, *I* was hunting the Easter eggs because of
the awful smell.

Do yourself a favor. Keep them in the fridge! g

I hope I don't offend anyone, but I ...well... would rather *avoid*

- Eggs are good and quick, any way you cook 'em. I always keep a pile
of boiled ones in the fridge for when I need to grab something quick.
Yes, they can get boring, but look at it this way - you're not going
to overeat on boring stuff. Besides, you can always dress them up with
any variety of spices.

- Cook up some brats (I love them browned on the rotisserie for ~25
mins - it gives them a little 'crunch' ), then grab one with a paper
towel (they get a little greasy) and eat it on the go. I think they're
even better cold. (Caution: allow brat to cool a bit before biting
down on it - the juices get very hot. I burned my tongue nicely on

- A cold leftover chunk of steak is one of my favorite quick meals. My
favorite seasoning is Montreal steak seasoning. This stuff is also
great on hamburger patties.

- Spice up your meats with a variety of different seasonings. My SO
has discovered Tony Chachere's and he puts it on *everything* now.
It's a little salty, so go easy with it at first until you find your
tolerance level for it.

- Pounded-flat chicken breast dipped in egg then coated with crushed
pork rinds and fried in a little olive oil is great! (I also added
ground pecans in the coating mix, but since you have the problem with
nuts...). Add seasonings of your choice. This is good cold, too.

Just a few suggestions off the top of my head. Take what you like and
leave the rest.
