Yeah Yeah yeah
Went to the dr to find out why I am horrably swollen yesterday. Mentioned I
was on atkins and she said IMEDIATLY Oh well obvioulsy atkins is causing kidney problems from too much protien so stop atkins and here is a water pill. She did blood work to prove that I was killing myself from doing atkins just to find out I am fine Taking the water pills though. I keep hearing South Beach is a good alternative though.. anythoughts? Oh she said I could eat 1 slice of whole wheat bread a day or 1/2 a cup of pasta or 1/2 a baked potato. I just kept thinking JC Bread is not low carb Pasta is not low carb Potatos are not low carb Ok the swelling IS going down a bit.. my hands dont look as bad and my feet look less puffy I think. The other thing was that I have low blood presure (116/60) so I have to watch for dizziness with the water pills. Also my grandmother said I need to get mor potassium in but the dr did not mention it... Sounds like you need a different doctor more than you need a different diet.
Jumping to such a conclusion without asking you exactly what you eat on Atkins is not indicative of a thorough, reasoned approach.
