Calories in alcohol?
Actually, I was saying exactly what I said. I'll make it more clear:
Beer belly come from sugar in beer. Beer belly not come from alcohol in beer. It come from sugar. Sugar = devil. Jake(beer drinker) "Alan Renaldo" wrote in message om... "Bob" wrote in message news:1UEab.520480$o%2.227731@sccrnsc02... Ah yes. The old maltose in beer=beer belly nonsence. Probably coming from a wine or spirit drinker. Even if you could remotely connect obesity with beer, it would be because of over consumption and the excess carb take that might accompany the beer, i.e., a whole pizza. The "beer is the devil" theory is a crock. Like anything, overconsumption is the problem. Tell this to all the 20somethings that consume ten drinks or more on Fri and Sat nights to make up for the week. They come out fighting since they're agitated. |

Alan,
From your continual excuses and admonitions in the last few months about enjoying a drink or two during an LC lifestyle, it's obvious that either you're a "dry drunk" who feels the need to preach against the sins of alcohol or you're a prohibitionist. I suspect the former. We're talking here about calories and alcohol and how it fits into a LC diet. The "20somethings" argument has nothing to do with this. If you're a former drunk, why not ignore these threads and move on to something else? Bob Skilnik Moderation, Not Deprivation Get The Carb Counts Of Over 350 Worldwide Beers! There is no beer without sugar, therefore beer belly come from beer. On the other hand, there is no wine belly, especially dry wine belly. Sugar = devil. Jake(beer drinker) You consume sugar. |

That is correct. When I consume beer. Jake. Beer is cheap but unhealthy the way dry red wine is. I only drink beer outside because it is cheap, but I limit a drink to one. Dry red wine like merlot and sauvignon are healthy because they clean your arteries of cholesterol. Plus dry red wine contains very little sugar. Okay you can say it might contain sulfites but there is dry red wine which can be bought containing no sulfites. There is almost such thing as a dry drunk. Your drunks consume excessive sweet wines for the most part. |

@eudoramail.com says... Beer is cheap but unhealthy the way dry red wine is. I only drink beer outside because it is cheap, but I limit a drink to one. Dry red wine like Dark beers have anti-oxidants and falvenoids akin to those in red wine. Good beers are not necessarily cheap. Good beers can be healthy in moderation much like a wine. Most peoples idea of beer is somewhat skewed by marketing and culture, trust me there is an entire WORLD of good beers out there. -- 370/307/270 Meatatarian: One who consumes primarily flesh and supplements with some leafy or cruciferous vegetation. Wine tastes like ass. Even good wine is an aquired taste. So is beer, for
that matter. Oh well, gave up both. Jake. "Alan Renaldo" wrote in message om... "Jake" wrote in message ... That is correct. When I consume beer. Jake. Good beers can be healthy in moderation much like a wine. Not like dry red wine. Most peoples idea of beer is somewhat skewed by marketing and culture, trust me there is an entire WORLD of good beers out there. "Good" beers? There is no such thing as a "good beer". Beer will still pile up the calories...and sugar. |
