Well, Dr. Chung DOES recommend that you spray nail polish remover on your food before eating it (seroiusly)........... If that were true, I would be an advocate of low-carb diets as "Hollywood" in ASD has been: http://groups.google.com/group/sci.m...a0e23edf9b7a32 ? Would welcome your sharing with ASD why you believe acetone (or any other type of ketones) spritzed on a meal to recreate the low-carb diet effect of hyperketonemia and appetite suppression is a stupid idea. Um... isn't acetone POISONOUS? Yes. Oh good... for a minute there I thought I was going crazy or something. However, "Hollywood" believes that if he takes enough different kinds of antioxidants, that he would be protected from the poisonous effects of the ketones (including acetone) from a low-carb diet: http://groups.google.com/group/sci.m...3852fb8d20046? Um... I didn't see any mention of seasoning one's dinner with some nice yummy acetone. That would be the fruity smell on the breath of someone who is low-carbing. That's a bit different from actively sprinkling acetone on your food though. Disclaimer: I'm not a doctor nor do I play one on Usenet. Bottomline: Oh dear - you sound like Pam. Sorry, don't know Pam. You're lucky. Please forgive all my iniquities. Oh dear. Being a doctor is my shape. It is how I serve others in this world even though I am no longer of this world just as my LORD is not of this world. Alllllright-y then. What world are you part of if not this one? HIS world. Ah... I should've known. Just curious. You are forgiven as far as I am concerned. Thank you. May GOD continue to keep your heart beating, dear neighbor whom I love unconditionally. Thank you Andrew... You are welcome. All thanks and praises belong to GOD, Whom I love with all my heart, soul, mind, and strength. and my best to you as well. Many thanks and much praise to GOD for your kind words. And for yours. You might be a kook but you're a NICE kook! -- Roofshadow AUK FNG |

Bottomline: Being a doctor is my shape. It is how I serve others in this world even though I am no longer of this world just as my LORD is not of this world. Claiming to be a doctor without actually being one gets you in trouble with the law, whether you believe that you're of this world or not. The law doesn't really care how deluded you are - you still get your sunlight in stripes. Prison stripes, nuthouse stripes - same thing. But maybe, if they put you in the right nuthouse, you can actually meet your god there. -- rukbat at optonline dot net "I have repeatedly said that in my opinion the idea of a personal God is a childlike one. You may call me an agnostic, but I do not share the crusading spirit of the professional atheist whose fervor is mostly due to a painful act of liberation from the fetters of religious indoctrination received in youth. I prefer an attitude of humility corresponding to the weakness of our intellectual understanding of nature and of our own being." - Albert Einstein to Guy H. So, Chung has taken me out of context. The full context is very long and complicated. Lemme give you the short version. 1- Chung posted some junk on ASDLC that had nothing to do with support of LC living. It was something about lipid peroxidation. 2- I asked for proof, he cited three studies 3- I debunked them, when two were diabetics only and the other said that, in a tube, Vit E and another anti-oxidant prevented LPO. 4- I found several other studies that suggested the link between AOs and reduction in LPO. I also suggested that a LC diet, done properly, is high in AOs (berry eating being a prime activity of mine on the diet, and not off). I also suggested supplementation. There's research on either side of that question. 5- Chung has divine revelations and therefore will not bend in the face of contradictory knowledge. That's about where we're at. I guess he's ****ed because I've blown up his main, non-religious objection to LC Approaches, and proven that calling his Arbitrary Amount of Food diet a diet is correct in the English language. As to my beliefs, I would decidedly look for anti-venom rather than prayer, though a little positive thinking and vision wouldn't hurt in the situation. Whether that's prayer for you, I don't much care. It's not for me. I think I am an ecology. As such, I can't do just one thing and expect it to have effects on only one thing (increase Vitamin C, get reduced colds). I believe you have to watch the "externalities" of your change transactions. If that's a little too "management speak" for you, sorry. That's my frame. I assure you. I may be kooky, but not like Chung and not in the way he is painting me. -Hollywood |
