You would get a lot of disagreement then. Try telling the met-rx folks, or
eas, or weider nurtrition that their engineered foods are no different than
the garbage sold in grocery stores.

Everyone will consider their own stuff superior to everyone else, and
will bristle at the idea of being included in company they don't
respect.

Nothing surprising about that.

Yuck.

I am not talking about met-rx vs. eas. One poster used the following litmus
test:

'Does the food have preservatives, etc. in them . . .'

.. . . to determine if the food is engineered or not. If that is the test
then 95% of the grocery store is engineered and I am sure that the
supplements companies would disagree that their MRPs are like the junk sold
in grocery stores.

Which MRP is better, met-rx, twin lab, eas, weider nutrition, etc. is a
different argument and thread.

I can't imagine why I would switch from having a shake every morning
to something less nutritious, less satisfying and less healthy, like
cereal.

Or an egg? :-)

How do you like your eggs cooked? You can always hard boil some in
advance. I have a Salton Egg Cooker that I really like -- makes hard
boiled, soft boiled, or poached eggs in a matter of minutes. And it
only takes a minute or two to fry or scramble eggs on the stove, also.
By the time I measure out cereal, protein powder, and skim milk,
there's not a big difference.

Omelet, with dill.

Of course, even if you're offering to come over each morning and
prepare it for me, I eat my shake in my car on the way to work. Might
be hazardous to try the same with an omelet.

Which are you taking issue with? "Engineered" or "meal replacement"?

Regardless, my comment (quoted above) was about what you said here,
with respect to what the supplements companies would say about being
compared.

Only negative for me is Target is the only place I've found this stuff and
the nearest is a 50 mile round trip.

I buy it at Trader Joe's -- do you have any of those near you?

Just out of curiousity, I did a search and found that there are
sources online where you can order this. Here's one:

How do the soft boiled turned out in the Salton? I'm asking if the whites

Yes, the whites are fully cooked. The amount of cooking in the Salton
depends on how much water you put in, and I'm sure that if you put in
too little you might get running whites, but I've not had that
problem. In fact, I use a tad less water than indicated on the
measuring cup, because my yolks were getting a little too cooked. I
think this might be because we have hard water, or maybe because I use
Large eggs rather than Extra Large or Jumbo. Anyway, it helps to
experiment a bit to find out how to get just what you want.

My usual favorite, though, is using the little cups to make poached
eggs, because I don't have to deal with getting hot eggs out of their
shells :-).
