Well, here I am with another monthly update on my road to a slimmer me! I really do appreciate all of you wanting to keep track of my progress. I actually think of you when it comes to making tough decisions about food choices because I don't want to let any one of you down! This past month has been good, I've been averaging 2015cal/day which is where I want to be at this point in time. My mom came up from Texas a couple of weeks ago for a visit. It was the first time she was able to see her grandson in living color and the two hit it off like gangbusters! We had a good visit, I was even able to visit a couple of buffet-type restaurants and keep my calories in check! I hadn't been to a buffet restaurant since going on the diet and have been very afraid to go to one. Call it a mini-goal! My Sister-in-law Michelle gave me information on doing stretching and toning exercises which I need to start doing. It seemed this past month there have been too much going on from my mom visiting to fixing up the exterior of our house, there never seems to be enough hours in the day. But I need to make that commitment and start the stretching exercises... (need prayers to help me start and focus on doing the exercises) I have no idea what I have been doing different but today I stepped on the scale and found that a whopping 18.4lbs have been lost! I don't understand it but the nurse zeroed out the scale and everything so the scale was right. That brings me to my other news: my mini-goal for this month has been achieved! I set a mini-goal to break the 400lb barrier and have smashed it all to pieces! I now weigh in at 393.8lbs! My next goal is to break 100lbs lost by September, that one will be a reachable goal if I keep my weighloss at around 3-3.5lbs/week. Thank you all for your notes of encouragement! Matty 481/394/250 Way to go, Matty! I'm reading this with a big smile on my face! Chris 262/141/ (145-150) |

"Ignoramus19922" wrote in message ... Great job Matty, I keep an eye on your progress with some amazement. I must say though, that at some point it would be worthwhile to slow down your weight loss a bit. 3.5 lbs per week is pushing it and there is no reason to be in a great hurry to lose weight. This would be a small adjustment to your plan. i How would I accomplish this? Increase my calorie intake? Right now I am at 2000 calories daily during the week and 2500 calories daily on the weekends. I was planning to increase my calorie intake in October/November for the winter... Thanks for the encouragement and advice! Matty 481/394/250 |

Thanks for the encouragement and advice! Matty 481/394/250 I'm curious as to why you plan on increasing the calories for the winter. I find I'm less active during the winter and usually have to keep an eye on the calories. Your current plan seems to be working fine. Your weight loss rate is still less than 1% of your total weight and considered very reasonable for your current weight. Beverly |
