Default Dearth Of Grnd Beef On Sale Since Mad Cow

Until the mad cow scare last month or so here in the southwest almost
every week one of the major supermarkets had grnd beef on sale for as
little as 99 cents a pound but not a sale to be found since. Is this
seeminly isolated or has any one else experienced this. Coincidentally
meat other then grnd seems to continue to be on sale

Grind it yourself!! 99c ground beef is usually the 30% fat stuff so it's
kind of a waste of money considering you are going to loose that 30% of the
weight you paid for. You need a *little* fat in it if you are making burgers
so they aren't dry and choke you on the way down.. but for anything else,
lean lean lean is best.
