Some say "salt sugar and white flour are the 3 poisons"
and that salt makes your body hold on to water...
but atkins book says nothing about salt ( I think)

Should I eat less salt?

Try Morton Lite Salt. With that, you cut the sodium yet add in some
(usually) needed potassium.

You need a certain amount of salt, it's always good to eat it in moderation.
Weight retention from salt intake is a temporary thing and accounts for a
lot of the day to day fluctuation that is natural.

It was once believed that too much sodium caused high blood pressure.
But it's now known that it doesn't cause it, and only a small percentage
of people with hypertension have their blood pressure aggravated by
normal amounts of salt.

Too much sodium will cause water retention for a couple of days, but
plenty of water will help flush it out. I once "gained" 6 pounds of
water overnight by overdoing bacon at a brunch buffet.

Induction is known for causing somewhat more excretion of sodium and
potassium than normal, so most people need to salt their food and some
need to add a potassium supplement, or else they get dizzy and/or muscle
cramping from electrolyte depletion.

Agreed. Don't fall for the salt myth. There's nothing wrong with
salt for the general populace, as will soon be proven through
research. The problem that some people have is the salt / potasium
balance (too much salt, too little potasium). It's hard to control
the amount of salt in your diet (since most of it is hidden in
pre-packaged food - very little of your daily intake comes out of th
salt shaker). Just get more potasium in your diet. If you like,
switch to 'half and half', which is a half salt, half potasium mix.
