Well, it's been about 3 months of 3 oz glasses of grapefruit juice
daily (before meals). I'm pleased - 5 lbs down - this is after a very
long (6 month) plateau. Still have my belly, but making progress.
Drinking the juice before meals has become a routine. The weekly
"challenge" is to find the juice on sale. sale price $2.00 for 1/2
gallon, "normal" price $3.59. I'm ****ed if I have to pay the $3.59.
1/2 gallon lasts almost 3 days.

Do you belong to a warehouse club? The BJ's near me has the best prices
on juice.

Well done, Brad. I know you've struggled with the plateau. Did you add
the juice to your diet or cut calories somewhere else to fit it in?

Why can't you eat fresh gapefruit? I always have heard that the whole
fruits are far better for you and they are not as expensive here.I eat
many in my diet.

Thanks Beverly. When I drink my 8 oz of juice, I count back the
calories of my meal by 90 - of course calories still count! I suppose
the grapefruit "theory" is that you'll want to eat less. Frankly, I
think I'm eating the same number of calories - and I'm puzzled that
I've lost the five pounds. Also, the acid in the grapefruit may
reduce the GI or speed that sugar enters your bloodstream.

glo, I agree with you fresh is best. Problem - speed - I only have
about 10 minutes to eat my two morning meals. BTW today I weigh two
pounds less, 156, for a 7 pound weight loss. (yes, it may be back to
158 tomorrow). I do now eat fresh garlic, spinach, and onions.
