The First Couple of Days on South Beach Phase 1
I am on the South Beach diet Phase 1 for the second day. I feel like a giant slug. I went to bed at 10 last night and slept until 12 today. I'm eating the 6 required meals. I don't feel hungry, just tired. Is this normal? When does my energy return?? Has anyone experienced this? |

I didn't count my carbs, I just ate what was on the list. Similar to the meal plans in the book. Ignoramus23077 wrote: I am on the South Beach diet Phase 1 for the second day. There could be several reasons for this - caloric intake is much lower than your usual level, caffeine intake is lower, carb intake is low, etc. Give it a few more days and see if your energy level increases. Are you taking any vitamin supplements with the diet? |

If I go to phase 1 it takes about a day to feel right but I have friends that go through 3-4 days of lethargy and headaches. -- the volleyballchick |

I'm feeling better tonight, much better that I did this morning and early afternoon. My husband gave me B-12 which I will continue to take, and a multivitamin. You are probably right on the caloric and carb intake. Just got back from a trip full of those kind of goodies. Beverly wrote: I am on the South Beach diet Phase 1 for the second day. Glad you're feeling better. There's nothing more discouraging than to set out on a healthier way of life and have it make you feel worseg Beverly |
