which low carb vitamin suppliment is best
Would anyone like to analyze the low carb vitamins out there. Centrum and
One- A Day have new low carb diet formulas. I was stocking back up on my basic 3 Atkins supplements and decided to stick with them, but these others aren't bad- just don't have L carotene in the formula. After reading 2 labels, I decided it was too confusing since the dosages were different for each one- a graph or something would be nice on the top choices. also the recommended dosages -- Diane Atkins since 12/4/2003 234/203 /150 5"8 CCLL about 27 Enjoy life & keep the calories down to your weight x 10 and watch the salt! |

After reading 2 labels, I decided it was too confusing since the dosages were different for each one- a graph or something would be nice on the top choices. also the recommended dosages I've been taking just a generic multivitamin all this time - nothing special. I did take the Atkins Basic 3 for a week or so when I first started (family member got me an 'Atkins pack' that had them in it along with the book), but I didn't like having to take pills with every meal, plus try to remember the 'Dieters Advantage' ones an hour _before_ every meal. I don't like taking pills as it is, so trying to choke supplements down six times a day was definitely more than I wanted to deal with. So I looked around my local pharmacy, found a multi that was once a day and no iron (brand name is Sundown 50+, made by Rexall/Sundown - orange/tan label on a dark brown bottle). The price was decent (seems like it's around $20 for 90 pills), so I have been taking those ever since. No L-Carnitine in them either, but as I understand it the main reason for taking that is to help reduce cravings - which I never really had cravings past Induction anyway, so I didn't miss it. Otherwise the multi I take seems to have lots of good stuff, including a few minerals/extracts that most of the other brand-name multis (at least the ones with no iron) didn't have. I take that once a day, and a flax oil capsule once or twice a day (depending on how often I remember), and that's it for supplements. I see supplementation as something that is really for overall health, not weight loss (i.e., something you'd do whether you're on any kind of weight-loss plan or not). So I'd say that any supplement that meets your basic nutritional needs would be fine, really. Stargazer Atkins since Apr 2003 192/141/140 |
