Strawberries
I was shopping at Sam's Club recently, just picking up a couple produce items. I was getting tomatoes and was planning on picking up some blueberries or raspberries. When I got there, they were out of both! So, on impulse, I picked up some strawberries instead. I was wary though, I didn't know their carb content. I suspected they were fairly high. I was suprised to find that at least according to the http://www.atkins.com carb counter, strawberries have LESS net carbs than blueberries!!! (But more than raspberries). Excellent! |

I love strawberries. I like to freeze them and then eat them frozen 1-2 at
a time. Tori -- Xavier- 10/27/05 "Oooohh whats that on the floor? a dime? Yummy!" Bonnie- 03/20/02 "Mommy look a cloud worm is eating the care bears" 349.5/318/135 wrote in message oups.com... Ok you have to be the stupidest person on earth if you think I could go up
to 1000 people and ask them if eating strawberries would make you fat. In fact, I would ask 1000 Doctors, and nutritionists, those specializing in low carb.... "So, Dr, if he had been including a cup of sliced strawberries EVERY DAY for the last 20 years as part of his daily diet, this is the cause of all the fat accumulation, RIIIIGGGHHHHT????" You are slipping, that was a bad misinterpretation of the facts of the post before your usual, nasty auto-reply. Amateur. ~Melodie~ Aka AnonomissX "JC Der Koenig" wrote in message m... :: : Now I've got the Latin name to ask after and everything. : Special order time as soon as I find a source and : instructions on when to plant them in zone 5a. It would be better to find out what type of ecosystem the plants prefer prior to ordering the plants. People come to Central and West Texas and try to plant shrubs, etc., that would be better off left in Ohio. Every spring, the retailers push Azaleas on an unsuspecting public here and of course the vast majority of Azaleas cannot be grown here--or barely sustained. Our pH is too high (say around 9) and the soil mostly alkaline. Oh, Herculean efforts can be made--and are made--by botanical gardens, but for most people, it just won't work. If you want a plant to grow and thrive, you have to try and recreate its "home" territory. Pat in TX : |
