Hey - Now there's a perk to dieting I bet you never considered before.

Now I'm gonna have to go check out this little black skirt thing. I
got a great pair of knee high boots last year and have limited outfits
to wear it with.

It was a suggestion from a younger friend at work. She said I needed a
little black skirt and boots to go with it. I saw one at the Limited last
night. When I went back today, I never made it to that store. Instead I
stopped at Maurice's and saw an adorable little black/burgundy/white plaid
mini with pleats in the front - total "naughty catholic schoolgirl" look.
As a goof I tried it on - very low waisted but since I had panty hose on,
the skin was all kept in. Came out of the dressing room to look in the
3-way mirror and some older lady who was waiting for someone looked over and
said "That looks fabulous on you - you're so lucky to have such slim hips."
I think she was a plant by the store management but it worked cause I
couldn't buy it fast enough. Decided to forgo the black boots for now
since I spent too much money in the sports store on winter running attire
and I already have a new pair of knee-high brown boots.

I'm happy to say that the first leg of the trip went well. Because I wasn't
going to be home much this week I had a lot of food cooked in advance,
packed it all in a cooler and took it with me. Totally stayed on the plan.
Found a mile loop around the hotel to run in the AM and a Curves only two
stoplights away that I hit before the meeting. Surrounded by my favorite
restaurants (none of which are near where I live) and the temptation, I
resisted and felt good about doing it. What really felt good was in the
morning, I was able wrap one of those hotel towel around me and fasten it.
Those things used to be like a handkerchief on me

You are doing terrific, Jenn! Especially congratulations on the hotel towel -- I can
relate to that thrill! Great job planning so that you were able to stay on your plan
.... this is all terrific news and a great inspiration!

No! Brown boots are not the equivalent of black boots. :-) Get those black boots to
go with that new skirt! Black boots *over* the knee! You deserve it!

I like those old WWII brown shirts. They make me feel right at home.

Eat food, lift left, walk away, dress on the right

I'll be headed back to the mall next month when I attend this class again
and I will get a pair of black boots! I told DH I just *have* to have them
because the ladies on a.s.d. insist that my wardrobe is not complete I
think they might be over the top with my black/white/burgundy plaid
schoolgirl mini skirt, but I could always use another short black skirt!

The other day when I wore the knee length brown ones (with the heel btw) and
a short skirt, DH said all I was missing was a whip, but he wasn't
complaining. He also appreciated the new Old Navy boot cut stretch denims
today. They were "just below the waist" and I felt like my butt was hanging
out all day, but it really wasn't.

Jenn, it is wonderful to be able to spoil yourself with clothes -- clothes bought in
stores that you (and I) couldn't even walk into before because we knew there wouldn't
be a single thing that fit. I am happy to hear you are going to get the black boots
and are having fun with clothes! Even if you don't want to wear the schoolgirl
mini/black boot combo out of the house, I'm sure there's someone there who'd
appreciate the look! :-)

Mary
