I was very interested to see how protein was judged to be the best food for
breakfast.

Give that some carbs must be eaten, what and when, are best please?

Spread them throughout the day, mostly in the form of fibrous veggies.

Some carbs is a lot different than a lot of carbs. If you're carbed
controled for weight loss, it won't make that much difference, especially if
you're anywhere near 20 g. It certainly can't hurt to spread them over the
day, either. I think it's possible to make things too complex and
convoluted to end up with a plan you can follow easily. Obviously, most of
your carbs should come from non-starchy veggies and low-sugar fruits.

Thank you! It is just that I have read here that protein is best in the
mornings; so which food is the best for the rest of the day?

I don't recall that anyone judged that, except that out of the
macronutrients

1) Alcohol
2) Fat
3) Carbohydrates
4) Protein

on a low carb diet, strike out Carbs. So you have left:

A) Alcohol
b) Fat
c) Protein

Which would you pick to be the dominant macronutrient for breakfast.

Perhaps a warm alcohol drink with melted butter?

In reality no carbs MUST be eaten.

I suppose you could say that the "best" carbs to eat are those foods
with maximum fiber and minimum carbs and high nutrient content for
vitamins and those phyto things.

This is 'best' because you get to eat more and it is potentially better
for you.

Don't be afraid to have lunch for breakfast, or dinner for lunch, or
breakfast for dinner. On low carb, you can get away from
preconceptions of what to eat when. Still, I usually have a couple
eggs and some pork or beef for breakfast.

Thanks Tom)

The reason I was asking, was that someone here mentioned that carbs are not
the best thing for breakfast!

I do understand that carbs are not the best thing anyway, but (I think it
might have been Jackie) that protein should always be taken for breakfast.

Thank you for your kind response

If you are a diabetic, then eating your carbs in the am will have a great
affect on your blood glucose levels, for sure. In that case, if you are
going to be eating enough carbs to impact your BG, then it is best to do so
later in the day.

How many carbs one can handle in the am without driving BG up to damaging
levels depends on the person. One can learn by simply paying attention to
what's eaten and testing with a BG meter.

Thank you Roger! I am not diabetic. I am just picking things up and
learning
