Default French fried fauxtatoes & easy cheese "chips" recipe

Has anyone ever tried fried fauxtatoes? Can you just mash (or food
process) the cauliflower and then deep fry? Any suggestions or tips
would be appreciated.

Also.. if you ever have a craving for cheese flavored chips try this:

Spread some cheddar cheese on parchment paper on a plate and microwave
on high for about 3 minutes (until it starts getting brown.) Drain off
oil and let stand until cool (about 3 or 4 minutes.) Break off a piece
and taste. It will be crunchy and chees flavored (obviously). Very
yummy.

What keeps the fauxtatoes together? I think it would fall apart... Now
fauxtato pancakes might be interesting.

There are several alternatives for frying; sliced zucchini, turnips, green
beans. You could also try cauliflower or broccoli florets. I've had the
latter as tempura in the past, but that means some kind of coating...
