Funny stories
Could we all add a funny low-carb story to this thread? Here's mine:
---------- I won a $40 gift certificate for an Italian restaurant. I was looking at the salads and dressings, and asking the server about sugar content. She said "Are you doing Atkins?" I confirmed, and she said, "Oh! I had a customer last week who was doing Atkins, and he really went over the menu. He ended up having the Chicken Parmigiana and fettucine. Would you like to try that?" Well, of course the pasta was out. I asked if the chicken was breaded and she said yes. I said I'd have the spinach salad and a glass of water. She was all "but the other guy had the chicken...". Eep.... ---------- Regards, Deb 260/212.5/135 Only 2.5 lbs away from 50!!! |

Could we all add a funny low-carb story to this thread? Deb 260/212.5/135 Hi Deb, On Easter I made the Low Carb White Chocolate Cheesecake Recipe because I was determined to take low carb to our family dinner so I didn't blow it. We had ham, turkey, lots of high carb sides. I took cabbage and smoked sausage with onions, and a huge $32.00 salad along w/the cheesecake. (We call it that because I sent DH to the store just for salad fixins and he spent $32.00. Ever since then any salad that has more than 2 kinds of lettuce and lots of extras gets that name!) Well I made it to the table late (taking care of the kids first.) there was barely enough cabbage left for 1 serving and a little more salad than that. Other family mambers had brought a total of 3 desserts and all but 1 1/2 servings of the cheesecake was gone and almost all of the other desserts were intact. No one could believe that the cheesecake was sugarfree and low carb. My sister (who is also named Deb and on low carb) and I laughed at the success of low carb even in a family where only a couple of us are doing it and no one else is the least bit interested in it for themselves. Go figure. Take care! Robin 225/200/110-115ish |

Funny stories
After losing 35 lbs, I feel great, but its time to put shorts on up here in
New England. We are behind up here in the suntan department and my coworker suggested the latest sunless tan products. I beelined to the drugstore and settled for the L'Oreal brand of product--dark shade, of course ( why bother with it otherwise.) I got my evening showed and proceeded with the instructions, only to be discovered by my husband. That made me hurry, as he laughed at what I was doing and results were that, yes, it was a great tan...gave me a sexier stomach, nice legs .but I forgot to do 1/2 of my toes, and forgot to wear gloves!!! My hands still look like I've been refinishing furniture all week- time to try some bleach. Now that I've learned to wear gloves- I'd recommend it for a sunless tan and to give yourself a lift. I just looked up health warnings, and as long as you keep it away from your face its ok -- Diane Atkins since 12/4/2003 234/199 /150 5"8 CCLL about 27 Enjoy life & keep the calories down to your weight x 10 and watch the salt!
